Yes, that's it! And one of the nicer jobs I've seen on top of that.

I'd forgotten to mention "bubbles". I think they used very thin paint at high pressure for those.

Is this an example?

This was a 54 Crown Vic given to me when I was 17. I already had 2 cars and my folks would not let me have another. My boss had to move right away and gave the car to me. It was stripped of interior and drive train. I kept it at a friends(so called) house who later said he had to move it and traded it for a motor. If I would have been notified I would have moved it, oh well. Wish I had it today, would have been a great Nostalgia car. The head lights and tail lights were frenched and the paint was great for the day, about 1975.

Exactly, but most of them I saw were pretty small and used on corners, highlights, etc.

You've got some great shots of Old School stuff!

I didn't know what "bubbles" were either, but when Dan explained it I remembered that Camaro. Most of my shots were shot locally at Motion Raceway in Assumption IL. I did visit close "big" tracks like Indy, Joliet, Gateway, Beech Bend. The camera got me closer to the racers and I listened to everything they said, hope I am not too old to finally use it.
The Love Machine, I have never seen, looks like a D/G? Falcon/ Fairlane, I would guess BB powered and unsure of the track. Good lookin car though.

"FREAK DROPS"

Thin (water consistancy) paint, shot through an airbrush.
Put some paint in a small area and then using just the air, push the paint out from the middle. You could get something similar to a sunburst or really any shape you could push out with the air.
Searching the web for an example and just can't find one.
