Yeah, but wait until Maple Grove Points Race coming up this weekend Bruce, plus usually Englishtown Points Race has lots of cars.

Sometimes it just depends on the weather forecast too.

Norwalk, is an exception cause of the ice cream, lol.

"There were a unusual number of no shows due to the fact that earlier the announcer said that stock was through for the day and did not make the correction soon or clear enough. Some left and some started to consume adult beverages and thought better of showing up after that."

Although it is up to the individual racer to make decisions about their behavior at the track, if this truly happened, then the round of stock should have been postponed. That is truly unfair to any competitors who are there spending their money to have fun.
If this announcement was an error on the part of the event staff, the NHRA division 3 team as well as the track owners/operators at the very least owe these racers their entry fee back.

The false statement that stock was done and the correction were made in the same announcement, within 10 seconds of each other (where I was, several runs to the cooler were in progress but not completed). The first 3 byes in stock were broken cars. I'm not sure about the last 2.

Thanks for the kind words about the '62 Pontiac, guys. Sorry to say I broke another motor in the first round of stock. Bob Michael.

This reporter was too busy today racing to keep everyone up to date. I have more photos to post - but that will have to wait till tomorrow - I'm tired.

Bob, sorry that you had some bad luck. Your Grand Prix is very cool, partly because I love drag cars that are different. Whether it's a 72 Comet, an AMC Pacer, an Olds 4-4-2 or you car unique is cool. I love Camaros, Novas, Firebirds and such but get tired of seeing the same models of cars in the staging lanes. I know I'll get some heat for that, but OH WELL.

Hey Mark, thanks for the update on the weight of Bob's car.

By the way congrats to Mike Delahanty for winning Stock. That is cool, reporting and winning the race - AWESOME.

A few pictures to post. #1 Qualifier in SS Jim Evanuik in his very unique Cleveland powered Escort Coupe. Jim just reset the GT/A record at Atco. Jim has been racing Fords for a long time and his engine shop puts out a number of winning circle track engine too.

Another one of the Milan Dragway Stock -SS alumni Dan Olding. Back in the day Dan ran a very cool 62 Impala SS/MA. His Monte Carlo is super clean.
