I understand that stacking is a service that could be provided by the track if they have the space to do so. I understand why NHRA wouldn't want racers inside the gate before they take control of the admittance process. I've only been to the St Louis track once, but I don't recall a large field that would be conducive to stacking; only a long, narrow road outside the gate. It may not be an area of town where you would want to leave your pride and joy unattended to go eat BBQ. This is more a corporate holding than a mom and pop joint working hard to please the customer. If other tracks are willing to make accommodations to earn the business of Larry and others, that's a good thing! |
Re: Stacking at St. Louis
So how many S/SS racers will be in St Louis?

Re: Stacking at St. Louis
All of these stacking rules came about due to local racers, at each event, would come in and park their rigs on the Sunday or Monday before the event. While the stacking schedule may be inconvenient for some, it does make it fair for all. Denver has done it this way for a couple of years now, and it seems to work. Vegas also.

Re: Stacking at St. Louis
Tony, as for St Louis ...they have a newly paved road , 3 or 4 lanes wide, that runs the entire length of the property and that's well over 1/2 mile. also that's not counting the 1/4 mile of single lane the goes to the entrance of the circle track.
I've been the #1 dummy in line there more than once. like last year...... Rick DogLover ..........about 90 cars of the 2 classes |

Re: Stacking at St. Louis
[QUOTE=Nmbr1GMfan;598207]Honestly, if this were one complaint about parking, that's exactly what it would be... 1 complaint, however it isn't. Every single one of these NHRA traveling road shows is a parking issue and it just makes sense to roll on to the next race rather than drive home just to turn around and leave,
I wish I had this problem! Lol. |
Re: Stacking at St. Louis
Whatever the rules are we try to follow and abide them, it is NHRA's ball, bat, and glove. And we enjoy playing the game. We will loose the two days of sightseeing that we had planed in St.Louis. Adjusting our schedule to the east coast is unexpected but should be a fun time
