Light mist here. They are working on the track. No staging lane calls have been made.

Good morning everyone, they just called Super Stock to the lanes. Unfortunately it started to rain. The rain is light but the local radar does not look good.

Be Safe guys. No potential win is worth hurting the car or you. NHRA sometimes is tempted to push a run or two to "see if it is okay". Then they make the decision NOT to run. The will be another race , another day , another INDY. Thanks for the reports.

The rain did stop for about hour and they were in the process of drying the track. The rain is back now and will be for some time according to the local radar. It is more steady now.

No word on what NHRA plans are for the sporstman. SS still has not run there first round. Stk has run 3, SC has run 4, SG has run 4 and the Comp field is set.

More when I know more...

They just posted the "truncated schedule" which kinda implies they may be considering delaying until next weekend....let's hope they don't have to do that.

Thats why I didnt make Indy ,i promised to have this here got it done monday.12 to 14 hrs a day for last 6 weeks

I am sure everyone knows by now that we are done for the day. Tomorrow will start with Super Stock weather permitting. We are told if the sportsman do not get to run tomorrow the will run on on Saturday.

Its been fun as always and I can not wait for next year. I will be hitting the road soon, so this is my last live report. If I receive any info I will be sure to pass it along.

Tom,,, the test video worked just fine. Only one problem,,,,, its way too short!!

Thanks for keeping us informed boss -- and yes , I promise to be there with you next year and help out ( and race a little too ) .In the last 15 minutes it has started to reach us here in the Christmas City as in its coming down pretty good and picking up speed .................have a safe ride home - see you in a few days .

Hey guys, I figured I would keep the "Live From" coming being that all of our reporters have gone home and we have three cars still kickin. The rain has stopped for a few hours but there is low-level cloud cover determined to drop another set of sprinkles on us. People are out and about and every once in a while I can hear a top-fuel car making some noise on the other end of the track. In my opinion, they should have done a "mini-tech" with Superstock and got a round in yesterday but they did a full tech on about 10 cars. Tomorrow looks pretty good with two hits of the SuperStock early in the morning and then into the show. I'll post some pictures later. Stick around..should be a fun show if we ever start racing.

It's almost midnight and it's a steady sprinkle. Winds are slowly getting stronger which might help us out in the morning. They are calling SS out then Comp and right back to SS with stock planned around 2. I guess we will have to wait and see what it looks like in the morning. Many of the Superstockers have headed home and I doubt if 128 will make the call even with alternates. More in the morning.

Monday Racing Delayed By Larry Sullivan


BROWNSBURG, Ind. - 8:30 a.m. - Today's overloaded schedule is not getting off to a good start.
The track crew has been busily working to dry the track and Super Stock was called to the lanes.

Track drying is not going as quickly as expected - it's very humid and we got a lot of rain yesterday, over an inch at least.

Thus the second problem, the Sportsman pit areas are very soggy - a lot of the Super Stock racers could not get out of their pits to go to the staging lanes.

Those Super Stock racers that did get to the lanes were sent back to their pits and race officials are working on an alternative schedule.

As soon as that schedule firms up, we'll let you know. Right now, the first thing down the track today will be Top Fuel.

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - 9:45 a.m. - The rain has lifted the rubber on the track and the track will have to be scraped out to the 660-foot mark, even without any more rain - and the rain has not stopped.
The event has been postponed to Saturday, September 8, and Sunday, September 9.

The Saturday and Sunday schedules will be the same as the rained-out Sunday and Monday schedules for this weekend,

The Professional, Pro Modified and Top Alcohol fields are still open and they will make their final qualifying runs Saturday.

The Traxxas Nitro Shootout for Top Fuel will be contested in conjunction with Saturday's Professional qualifying sessions.

That's it for this weekend, additional details will follow.
