Forgot to add 'The Cookie Duster" to the list. Original automatic car, converted to a stick.
I spoke with the original owner of this car a few weeks back. He still has the original MSO when he purchased the car new in 68. Great, great guy to talk with, that really enjoyed racing that car. He even pulled the Xram off it & installed some Hilbornes in 69?

Sold it in 71 sometime, to a couple guys in Maryland who blew the engine up. He doesn't know what happened with it after that.

Go back to post 1152 and read in that area. That's as much as I know about this one was what I read there.

Google Soulful Strutters racing and you may find some more info.

One report was it was rebodied .

Another was it was parted out.

Another that it was scrapped.

One of them is probably true.

I have NO idea.

There was a 68 Dart in Detroit with a street hemi in it.Only ran mid 11's.Black car minus the hood.Looked very much like the Dart posted above.Saw the car on the street once. The story is it was real .No further info.

The last time I saw the Rivers car, it had the original mso and vin tag. The car had a lot of original parts but definitely rebodied.

Recently I was sent this picture of the Cookie Duster. It's been posted before but I was trying to make out the Dart in the background. I'd have to say it's that 69 Dart Clyde Cheek.
Injectors musta been real popular in that area. Every car in this pic. has a set of Hillbornes including the Cookie Duster which is an original LO23 Hemi Dart. Originally an auto, converted to a stick.

Looks like the green Dart # 19 has mis-matched paint on the rear 1/4 panel below the sail panel leading up to the door. This area is similar to the area of dent repair on Daryl's Dart.

Does anyone have any other pics of Richmond Dragway from 1968-72? We might get a better look at the green Dart.

My first quess to the origins of that background Dart is that someone modified the wheel openings of a production Dart.
The center of the damaged area on my car is approximately at the end of where the paint transisition is on that car.

I agree. National Dragster has an article on rare stock , and S/S cars that are still racing and The Comella Dart is featured on pg.54. Good article, but they could have covered more types of rare cars. Way too much coverage of the "PRO" classes and never enough of the back bone of our sport. The Sportsmen.

I don't know if this is a repost but I can't tell what car this is, the missing Dart? I can only make out the hood scoop.

I probably got a lot of my internet pictures where most of you got yours. However I am in the process of separating the hemi Dart and Cuda pics and will put them somewhere where everybody can see them. If I see a silver or dented Dart I will put it up right away.

That's the Bob Banning Dodge '70 Challenger after rear-ending Bo Law's Camaro at the Nationals in 1970.

I believe that the Widowmaker Dart is accounted for and currently in Illinois. I used to see the Matchmaker A-990 Coronet still competing at Union Grove regularly until the late 1990s, but have no idea of its whereabouts today.
