You were correct in the other thread, you could not do it at Indy. The index puts too many of them at risk of a DNQ. It is the price we paid when Len asked us what we wanted for an index. We knew that would be the case, but felt the trade off was worth the risk of a DNQ at Indy.

Alan,

I think the only place to hold such an event would be Bowling Green but it would have to be a "stand alone" event just for stockers, even then who would do the tech?

It has myself and another racer I talked to today already thinking twice about paying for a shortened race.

I was running a Stocker in Super Stock. I wonder if I'm allowed to change cars for the make up race. I didn't plan on running that combo any longer than 2 races. Just wanted to go a few rounds. With random pairing it really shouldn't matter. Does anyone know?

David -- Seems were in the same boat as I was planning on racing a different car the second half of our season -- the rules, I believe, allow you to change cars but you must run the same class that you started in ....guess we better look into this further .I'll keep you posted .

Thanks Tom but I'm pretty sure for the make-up race Tech is closed..........Somewhere in this mess there must be a 'grey area' we can play in .

PS-- I've played in this arena before -- you must re-register in the same eliminator and class.

The lockout for the first race is to prevent racers from entering it and going home, leaving the October race pretty much vacant. The way it is structured now, you can finish the June race but, to stay for the October race, you would, obviously, pay another entry. Two entires for basically one race. There is not enough time to get all of our qualifying runs for both races. Friday will be a bitch of a day, running a complete race, plus, the October race! I hope none of the Alcohol cars break. The June race should be completed at Cecil on Thursday.

I understand - rules are rules - no argument with the closed fields

but I've asked this before -

I know tracks are busy being booked solid - but why wouldn't an important race such as this have a dedicated rain date scheduled that doesn't interfere with another important race?
