What would a pure stock cam be? Do you have an aftermarket cam now?

No, the cam ... and in fact complete engine ... is 100% stock. 52,000 miles IIRC. It still has the exaust manifolds on it and well as all pollution equipment. Bullet can grind a legal Pure Stock cam that is supposed to be good for 2-3 tenths. With headers and an UD pulley I hope that puts it solidly in the 11s on any track and in any weather.

By the weigh (pardon the pun) finally got to scale it Saturday. Car is only 3135 (no weight savings at all done to it other than the wheels which are only 40 lbs. lighter than stock for all 4) and with me race weight is 3385 which is 110 lbs. heavy for B/PS.

Last year I had to add weight to stay in G/PS. I changed diet and lost 35 #.
Was doing a lot of Crossfit and Russian Kettlebells but still ate prodigiously from hunger after aworkout just could not loose weight.
Change the calorie intake and a lot of water for 6 weeks POW the weight came off.
Now eating back normally with some changes once the weight came off.

Now on the quest to lose car weight for F/PS but figure out how to lose 300# without taking it off the street.
I love the AC too much after a Competition Run on a hot day :D

AS for a Pure Stock Cam they have to meet all the Stock Cam Specs listed and use Stock Spring Pressures.
Engine RPM is about the same as stock and they manage a few more HP.
This is a perfect Class for either Flat Tappet or Roller Lifters and Stock Stamped Rockers.
Especially Flat Tappet as you will not need pricy Lifters to keep an engine alive.

Pure Stock offers a much higher reliability and it is a simple Cam and Spring change from Big Dog Stock.
AND
then you can run normal street gas and save a pile of money.

You will probably find a larger gain with a set of correct ratio rocker arms then a blueprint cam. The stock rockers can be really goofy.

Who would be the best company to talk to about these? If I'm not mistaken roller tips are allowed now. ??? I've never even had the valve covers off so I don't know if the OEM ones are rollers or not on an LS1.

I know very little about the LS1s. I do know they do not come with roller tips. I'm sure they are available from Comp or one of the others. There are also trunnion upgrade kits available. Sounds like fun.

The mid 70's Nova is Bobby Zlatkin E/PS

Using Stamped Rockers required a bit of coaxing.
In the 80s the MacElroy Cam was the hot solution for the 350/255.
To make the cam legal you had to bang the Rocker Stud in forward to kill Rocker Ratio to meet Lift.
Or you ground and lapped the tip to kill ratio.
I know..because I got bounced for too much lift!!

Jeff Warren put brand new GM Stamped Rockers on my engine.
For my particular set up my Blueprinted Cam Card the lift is listed based on a 1.5 ratio.
Had to rebuild that engine because of a hurt piston becaue of a bad Injector.
Putting it back together measured the cam Lift and was a tad under the Stock Lift because the Stamped are around 1.47 Ratio.

Now the LS Engines have Roller Rockers and the Specs should be more precise than mine.

Thanks Brister yes..Bobby Zlatkin's 1974 Nova..Beautiful Car!
Sometimes his picture pops up on Class Racer
