Neil, ask Bruce,he I would imagine he was in on the process. How is Ed doing, I haven't heard from him in a long time.

OK guys.
Better take what Neil said to heart.
I just happen to have a copy of the letter.
I know for a fact that there was a lot of research done.
The letter is addressed to:
NHRA Super Stock / Stock Rules Committee
Attn: Pat Cvengros, Committee Chairman
My lips are forever sealed as to how or where I got it.
And "NO" I won't post it. I'll leave that up to Chrysler or NHRA.
I'm probably already in deep D*D* for even saying I've got it & I'll probably get carved up here on the forum, But.....
FYI the first line in it is:
The following superseded parts are submitted for updates to the NHRA Technical Specifications manuals.
It has 7 lines (done in bullet point style) of parts and part numbers and different year make and model applications.
No where in there do I see any demands made by Chrysler or Jeff Lee.
Best I could read is they were "submitted".
FYI: Jeff's name is not on the letter.
As stated by Neil it does look like Chrysler made the request.
To me it's case closed.
Put this to bed and how about all you guys give Jeff a "Get Out of Jail Free" card?

Right Adger, Chrysler/Fiat has nothing better to do than go out there for the 4 or 5 AMC racers to have them beat up on those green meanie GM and Ford people.
That bridge in Brooklyn is on sale this week.

OK Ed,
It didn't take you long to take your first shot, you are spewing your usual cr** and I expected it. There were more respectable people involved in this than Jeff. It might be best for you to go crawl back under your rock.

Are you now questioning Adger's reputation too?
I believe he has earned the respect in the racing industry and no one has questioned his integrity.
As a matter of fact, I have personally seen the same documents that Adger refers to and I have also kept my mouth shut.

NHRA has always played favorites on which parts they accept and do not accept.

As a matter of fact, the dreaded Cadillac/Oldsmobile engine package it was I that initially submitted it to NHRA for approval on behalf of some Oldsmobile racers. It got rejected by NHRA and their reasoning was the engine was too old!

I handed the information to another Super Stock racer and he got it approved by NHRA. A few members in this site remembered when I sent the information to NHRA and I followed the same process as many.

Again, I believe the issues with Jeff Lee out of control by a few that have a witch hunt against him. Jeff is very passionate about the sport and yes, he can be very vocal about his opinions as many are here.

You make the point exactly. NHRA will fold like a cheap suit under pressure. I have no ill will against Adger, I just disagree with the bull**** paperwork that was submitted.

No Neil.are you? Protecting your buddy, just like when Ed was busting balls.
Bogus paperwork an eternity after the fact is not very ethical. No matter though, they couldn't catch the bogus factors on the new generation cars anyway.

books.google.com/books?isbn=1610608011

Go to this site. It's the history of AMC by Larry Mitchell, an AMC historian/collector and go to page 82. You be the judge.I would think if AMC released replacement parts approved by AMC Larry would know. Parts supposedly approved by Chrysler/Fiat in 2013 well ............
