Re: Live from Indy (Not Patsy)
Congratulation to my good friend Paul Wong for winning his 9th Indy class trophy. He showed up with a new engine and a vehicle with a gremlin and was able to get it right before class. Well done! One strong leaving N/SA!

Re: Live from Indy (Not Patsy)
Good Luck to all who are still in the Big Go today!
I do have one question though. Did the Pro's really only receive one qualifying session for this race? I know that probably does not really concern too many on here as we don't look at what the pros are doing, but it is not healthy for the sport to only get one qualifying run in for the pros for what is recognized as the biggest race of the year. I admit I don't follow drag racing as much as I used to, but this seems very wrong even considering the weather to treat the pros like that. Unfortunately, sportsman may be used to it, but I would think that the pros would be all over NHRA on this. Maybe that is why there are so many newer names on the sheet. I don't follow drag racing as close as I used to, but maybe thats why I didn't recognize about half of the names listed on drc in the pro categories |

I figured they would’ve gave the Pros 1 more Q run today and run eliminations later today but i guess it’s not to be, especially that this race is the last one for the countdown. |

Re: Live from Indy (Not Patsy)
NHRA really painted themselves into a corner on this event!
They booked 3 hours of live TV coverage on Sunday at noon central (11AM EST ) on Fox TV. There must have been some serious agony in the planning room. Is it true that NHRA buys the TV time block on Fox TV, like an infomercial? Are there other motorsports that get live TV time this way? Is the live TV show really this important? |
