We have another perfect day here in Georgia today! 60 this morning going up to 82 or so later in the day. They are running index cars now, then super street, then stock. We get 1 run this morning, then run 1st round this afternoon. There was a wedding on the starting line this morning. Jeff, one of the Division 2 tech guys got married on the line! We wish him and his bride lots of fun and good luck!!

This is me in my shirt that Brian Dixon sent me! Of course wine counts as a serving of fruit! By the looks of my eyes in this, it looks like I have been hitting the big bottle of wine he sent! He also sent Larry a pink Mohawk for his helmet, but Larry says it will be up above the rollbar in the car! Thanks Brian for all the goodies!

Well we are "On the Road Again"! Can't you just hear old Willie singing now! We left Reynolds about 8:45 edt this morning. Only 1900 miles and 28 hours of driving to reach Cave Creek, AZ and Mike and Paula Cotten's house! Since the way south way thru Houston didn't look so good with rain today, we are going I-20 thru Dallas and then down to I-10. We are just outside Selma, AL now. Weather has been great so far. Looks like we might see storms tomorrow. We will probably get somewhere in Louisiana before we stop for the night. Haven't seen too much to take pictures of yet!

We made it to Shreveport, LA last night and stayed at the Horseshoe Casino parking lot. We called Bobby Brannon and he came over and had dinner with us. It was really great to see him! Our plans are to get another 600 miles down the road today, but that won't even get us out of Texas! Boy this is a big old state! We will spend over 800 miles here! Looks like we are going to be into rain soon. Hopefully no hail or really bad weather!

We made it another 600 or so miles thru Texas today! We are still about 700 miles from the Cotten's. We were delayed about 2 hours and had to get off the interstate and go 50 miles out of the way after they closed I-20 both directions because of an accident with fatalities. At least we made it here safely. We are in Odessa, TX on a dead end street beside a Sam's Club with a bunch of truckers. There were signs all over the Sam's and Walmart "No Overnight Parking", so we are on the street.

Down around Midland and Odessa, it looks like a boom town with all the oil rigs and new buildings and construction!

The internet has been sketchy all day as we have been driving. I have typed something up 3 times now, and then when I go to post, I have been disconnected! But anyway, this morning we had 710 miles to go. Now we are down to less than 500. This morning all we saw were oil rigs and the various support equipment and businesses for them. Now we are in the mountains outside of El Paso. But we are "west of the Pecos"!

Well we have stopped for the evening just south of Tucson, AZ in Benson at a KOA. We got in here, I just hope we can get back out. But it is nothing like the one in Bristol that was so up and down hills we almost didn't get out!

Hey, I apologize for not posting for a couple of days, but we have been having so much fun here in AZ with Mike and Paula, I just haven't gotten around to it. Yes, Mark, the weather here is wonderful! 80 during the day and 50s at night. Just perfect! We arrived here at the Cotten's beautiful house last Wed and they have been showing us all around. I have pictures that I will be posting along.

On Wed we stopped at the Pima Air Museum down in Tucson. If you are ever in this area and like airplanes, this is the place to go. There are lots of retired military planes as well as private planes, too. Lots of fun.

Nice pictures, Larry and Patsy... I looked at them 3 times. That by itself wouldn't be strange........but I live here... LOL

Their are so many things to do around here and I am sure that Mike and Paula have your agenda full.............but.......In case you have a little time Saturday evening, Their is a car show every Saturday evening at the "Pavillions" in Scottsdale. they usually draw about a hundred street rods and classics...It is 4 blocks west of the 101 and Indian Bend road. (Guessing about 20 Miles from you) Usually around 6 PM is a good time to get there. Right across Indian Bend, is a 5 and diner that has onion rings to die for. And if that isn't enough, on the other side of the 101 and Indian Bend Rd is a Casino that gives money away to everyone from Kentucky every Saturday night.....(just kidding)....enjoy your stay.

Glad you enjoyed the Air Museum. We stopped there a few years back and it was amazing for us checking it all out. Theres some aircraft there that you don't see anywhere else,,, that's for sure. Take care.
