I know this may not be a popular opinion on this forum, so flame on if you must, but comparing this accident to someone hitting a pedestrian is asinine. It's merrily a case of poor judgment of one party that that led to a very unfortunate accident. Also Average person in the U.S. is 5ft10in and the average height of a SC car is what around 3ft 8in? so odds are if it was a person standing in the exact same spot Mr. Downing would have been able to see them over his standard 4" cowl induction hood on the CJ and adjust.

So if a racer hits a wall that is less than average height, it's the walls fault?

You're correct! congratulations, gold star for the day! You deducted that a standard pickup with a high ride height and great visibility could drive through the pits, after a rain with minimal traffic and nothing going on at the track without striking a car 5 feet in the road. Your mother must be so proud of you. You get to join the club with GUMP, two peas in a pod, all we need now is for supercompdiv3 to interject a fabricated statement from a well known racer and we can jump back on the special bus.

And Toby I would say in your situation at the very least both parties are responsible and both should pay their share unless the share continues to climb in the following months. The fact that don is attempting to recover damaged done to his trailer while trying to load his "severely wounded" dragster is crazy as well. he made the decision to load his car that way, so I feel that cost should be entirely on him. NHRA has these neat little tire dollies that go under the tires in order to get cars with damaged rear ends off the track, I'm sure they could have let him barrow them to load his car.

Re: Sliding through the lights trying to stage

Like James Perrone I've always believe that once I entered the grounds as a competitor or a spectator I was responsible for my action and had to use diligence when in the vicinity of other racers. I've been hit on two occasion, my 69 Camaro was rear ended by someone not paying attention, my damage bumper was nothing compare to his Corvette shredded fender so I figured c'est la vie and moved on. One of my biggest peeve is the way some driver do not pay enough attention to pedestrian and other cars around them, you have to survive INDY to really appreciate the lack of courtesy by racers. Just to let you know no one is going to come out of this ahead except those shysters we call lawyers, they're the only one who are going to come out of this with your money, meet each other half way and you both will come out of this with a small win, instead of paying for your attorneys trip to Jamaica. Make this go away for both of your mental health. Claude Ruel

Hey Mr. I joined this website to help a buddy Flow...yes my mother was proud of me. You know why?...because if I drove in excess of the posted speed limit and wacked a statianary object I would make good on the damage I did. Maybe the damage to the trailer would not have occured if Mr. Downing went over and gave the man who's car he had hit a hand loading it. That car is sticking out as far as the dragster in the picture in front of it. Nice to know there are a few racers who think it's OK to hit stuff and not make good.

Oh sounds like I struck a nerve, I'm glad thats your claim to fame. I had no idea you were not posting on this site to try to help don's (a fellow SC racer, and you probably use his product) side of the story.... I do believe that it been stated that the CJ could have been doing no more than 15 mph in the short distance from the booth (which is right out of the frame on the picture) to don's tire. and I believe thats the NHRA standard speed limit posting is 15.

Maybe you should hire a fact checker before you post. or you could just post other people false statements on other forums like you're good at. I'm referring to the post about Samantha Kenny from SupercompDiv3 that you so proudly posted to the DRR website with sympathy to Don, a post which was later called out by Jason Kenny(Sam's brother) as being completely fabricated (wonder who was trying to help his story out with that one?). But yet I don't believe you posted anything about that over at DRR or anything recognizing the fact that the post was false? I just find it funny that someone who frequents the DRR forum and posted frequently on the subject can be so in favor of a person who's story has changed multiple times over the course of 26 forum pages.

Also Toby, lets change the subject a little since that seems to be the theme of this thread, since we're digging into other peoples personal business I was just wondering if you could shed light on what happened between you and Mr. Meador? I've heard many stories through the grape vine involving a physical altercation? Is there any truth behind this? I figure a public internet forum is the best place to air out your dirty laundry, right Don?

Yeah, he kicked my ***. That's why I haven't been racing much lately. Long recovery period. We don't get along very well. I have always wondered why he has let me drive his car for 15 years when he we hate each other so much.

At least I have the balls to post under my real name and not hide behind some fake name. Grow a pair, dude.

BTW, I drove his car at the Seattle races this year, just in case you missed it.

Sorry Toby the rumors must be false. I was unaware that certain members of this forum are part a society that has devolved to such a manor where the size and justification of ones "testicles" is judged by his, or her, willingness to post their opinion on a public forum under their complete given name.
It seems I have put you on edge a little when I brought a personal matter into question on here, much like you frequently questions others about personal matters here, even when you have their personal numbers and the full capability to contact them in person to inquire.

I'm fairly certain that Don's car was not sitting out in the road when it was hit. It was parked with the front end up in the back of the trailer..

My dear Mr. Flow.....I don't use Don's product...never met him...don't run the same class....and am fairly certain I have never even been at the same track with him since I run IHRA. Don and Charlie may both be great guys..or total D-bags..I have no idea. But I do know car A hit car B while parked. It could have been stalled in the middle of the freakin' road for all I care. I've raced Norwalk more times than I can count and there is MORE than enough room to get down any of the pit roads.

Why am I concerned? Well let me explain. If my car is parked and someone runs into it I want to know that the norm is to make good on the damage done. Say I run into the "flowmobile"...is a handshake and "oh well that's racing" what you are going to expect from me? Or would you rather I help to make sure what is left of your pride and joy is tucked nicely back in the trailer and a check is on the way.

As far as a nerve....I've never met you...and obviously you don't care to tell anyone who you are. That's fine...I have thick skin buddy no probs.

I'll await your response filled with "special bus" references ( I do have a niece with down syndrome by the way) and more of your I normally don't post BS. I'm done...I hope they can work it out between the two of them.

What rumors? There were no rumors. Its was obvious what you were trying to do. Yeah, you really had me on the edge.

The thing is, you totally fabricated these "rumors", but it's a FACT that Charlie hit Don's car. What good is calling him gonna do?

It's pretty obvious to me that Mr. Flow is the same person that was posting in this thread under the name "Steve Williams." If a mod could do a quick IP check on the two accounts, I'm pretty sure they're from the same person.

This Steve Williams person either has a man crush on Charlie or maybe it's his girlfriend. Either way if I was Charlie I would tell them to stop posting because they're only making him look worse.

And thanks to Steve Williams we have this entertaining thread. All because of a snide remark I made about what he was gonna do with the second place money. He just couldn't let it go and tried to shame me for bringing something up that was that far in the past. Thanks, Steve!

It's pretty obvious to me that Mr. Flow is public figure.

"Young Self employed biz mogal; Lynton Kyle Harvey aka Mr Flow has bombarded da entertainment world not only locally but internationally, working with many different artists and dancers to support his hunger for success which has made him driven and focused on 1 goal...Entertaining... Ok, I stayed out of this, because it should be between Don and Charlie, but when I see my name, being brought up, and I have said nothing, I feel it is time, for you guys to cool it. There are a few Steve Williams in this world, one of them is from the west coast, one of them is from Detroit, and I am from Indiana. Please don't accuse.people. with just there name. I have met quite a few SW's in my time. I go by maverick as my name because my real name is being used by some one else who.has the same name. Don't connect me with 1320 racer. I have had people come to me at the drag strip, and want to know if I am the SW ON CLASS RACER. I go by the maverick handle. Some people know me on here, but I take it personal when people start saying things when they don,t know what they are talking about. STEVE WILLIAMS, I go by Maverick. S/G 351N from Indiana.
