Same Dart or different one?
Very possible they (Spurlock) had more than one.

I talked to the gentlemen who had the Griffith hemi dart and had restored it in black. He had advertised it in MCG/it was featured in the mag as well. Previous to his ownership it was in K C Spurlock's inventory for a while as was my O'Neill car (John Brown owned mine for a while and sold it to them. It was resold to a collector in Arizona/CA area). Spurlock was Kenny's manger.

This is the only Yankee Peddler I have seen pics of that says "Church's Motors" and not County Dodge.

Also note the Deb's Autpmotive on the door. Any signifigance to any of that?

Re: Original hemi dart information

Charlie,

Bill Flynn got one of the 'first' LO23 Hemi Darts.

Bill was based out of New Haven, Connecticut - which is where
'County Dodge' was located.

County Dodge co-sponsored Bill's car 'Yankee Peddler' for the
1968 campaign.

Lettering with 'Bill Flynn' with box lettering.

For 1969, Bill was then sponsored by 'Chorches Motors' out of
Manchester, Connecticut.

New lettering, with 'Bill Flynn' in script lettering.

Debs' Automotive {Owner; Moe Deluge} had '4' locations;

* Springfield, Massachusetts {Machine Shop, Chassis Dyno Shop & Performance Center}
* Milford, Connecticut
* Orange, Connecticut
* Hartford, Connecticut

'Deb's Automotive' sponsored many Connecticut and Western Massachusetts cars.

Thank you. Knowledge like that needs to be posted here.

Re: Original hemi dart information

Charlie A,

You're too kind. Mucho appreciado'.

Joseph Petrelle {Hampden Dodge}
'Debs Automotive' ~ Springfield, Massachusetts

Joseph Petrelle ran at;
* Orange Dragstrip {Fitchburg, Massachusetts}
* Connecticut Dragstrip {East Haddam, Connecticut}.
* Milton Dragstrip {Milton, Vermont}

I have an article where Joe Petrelle ran an 11.22 @ 125.20 MPH to win in the Finals of
Super/Stock Eliminator at Orange Dragstrip in 1968.

Re: Original hemi dart information

that dart always gets me good when I see it , around 1982-83 my father and I went to look at the speedwin dart to buy it for my first race car. if I remember correctly Ralph Vendrisco owned it at the time. he was asking a whopping$8800.00 for it . my dad did not want to buy it cause it had one or two pieces of corning glass missing.

that car sure is beautiful now.

on another note I heard recently that an uncut 68 lo dart was found and purchased in orange county new York near Middletown. I got this info second hand . I am tryiog to get some pictures of this car . who ever got it went to buy a hemi road runner with no engine and the dart was in the garage next to the road runner . both cars were less engine and have been sitting for a long period of time. hopefully this is true and another missing car can be id'd

I have those photo's, I posted most of them. I need shots of the Pygmy on the quarters and what is painted on the trunk lid. I also need to see close-up shots of how the black spider webs was painted on the car. I probably will never be able to find those pics, but I have to keep trying. At least the car is finally in my new garage at home, and most of the parts have been purchased, now the big money needs to be spent!

Looks homemade. Scan looks like it's from an very early 1970's issue of Raceway News (the track's newspaper).
