Re: Original hemi dart information
It was originally a Dodge and BMW dealer on Mason Street in Greenwich and eventually became exclusively a BMW dealership on West Putnam Avenue.

Re: Original hemi dart information
1970
At the start of the year, Charlie ran the 1968 LO23 Hemi Dart in SS/AA. By April, he was running his 'new' 1970 Challenger '426 Hemi' in SS/DA. Charlie also did run the 1968 LO23 Hemi Dart in SS/AA, but at the end of the year he did enter the Dart in Pro/Stock for a few go's before closing out the 1970 season. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1971 Charlie was back campaigning the 1970 Challenger in SS/DA. He also ran the 1968 LO23 Hemi Dart in A/MP. They also installed a 'Clutch-Flite' in the Dart, but quickly abandoned that idea. By May 1971, the car was raced with a 'For Sale' sign in the rear side windows. Charlie was 'under-the-gun' by the Factory {Regional Office} to run a Pro/Stock car for 1971. |
Re: Original hemi dart information
I guess I didn't know as much as I thought about the Hahnenkamp and Tite Dart-imagine that! Bret has forgot more about drag racing in the St. Louis area than I ever knew, and evidently Paul knows something about this Dart. I do know that when I looked at it, during my college years (and NO I wasn't under the influence of anything-it's just old age now!), it came with hemi parts (like maybe a short block), and when Schneider and England ran it, as the Music Room (Rich Hahnenkamp's dance hall) car, it did have a Hemi in it, and then it went to Dale Baker.
Bret, if you have a picture of the Music Room car, or anybody else, it would be kind of neat to see it on here. I know they ran a lot at I-55 in Pevely, MO. Sorry for any mistaken memories of a teenager. Dan |

Contacted both Charlie Licata & Tony DeVito. Haven't found Rick Rickman yet. Same story on both. Castaldo only had 2 Darts that he campaigned. now, is there a possibility of Castaldo purchasing another Dart & just warehousing it, definately, but I just don't know who else I can talk to about this. I'm currently trying to get Eugene Coards contact info (One of The Mutt Brothers ) I've gone back into the archives of this thread several times, trying to locate something. There are a couple faithfulls from waaaaay back that are still contributing today. Paul Ceasrine & M68(Pete) come up on a regular basis. Thanx guys for hanging in there with me. There's also been MANY MANY others that have come & gone, then come back for an occassional visit. There's some pretty neat AND famous guys that have been here. Thanx to all of you!!!!! All have made this thread what it is today. Now, alls we need to do is put a period on this deal. It'll make my sleeps alot better. liteweight |

Hemiman4262003 - I had forgot about it looking like that. I was thinking of after they had the quarters worked on, and I believe it was white. Thanks for posting the picture.

Re: Original hemi dart information
I think Hemi Fred has a way to contact Eugene Coard. I haven't heard much from Fred lately. He has some Hemi parts on Moparts for sale the last couple of months or year.

On your list you have a name attached to The Mannhattan Speed Dart---- "Pete ***** ". First time I've seen a name associated with it. Got some questions. The *******, means you don't know or remember his last name, or?????? Can you clarify for me please? Secondly, you have this car listed as a 4 spd. Now you have me totally confused----AGAIN. Back onto the Merry-Go-Round from Hell for me I go!!!!!. Not done yet. Got more questions. Some have probably been answered already, but, the brains storage capacity is full & overwelmed. Or, maybe it's just an excuse for the over 55 thing. Anyway------- Where are these cars today & are they accounted for: 1) Charlie Lendrum 2) Chick Brignolo 3) Joseph Patrelle ( This one I'm pretty sure hasn't surfaced yet) ANY & ALL responses from the faithfull followers here would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thankyou Daryl A Facebook find any info on this one? http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/...psa91f210d.jpg Daryl |

Re: Original hemi dart information
This car has had alot of different wheels on it over the years, but never Torque Thrusts. I agree C they would look great on this car!!!!
The installed list includes Cragar Super Tricks, Weld Super Lites, Factory Steelies painted black, Weld Pro Stars, Cragar SS with spinners & currently original early 70's Keystone Classics. I might throw the factory steelies on it next year. liteweight |
