Michael,
We've been down this road before. I don't race at IHRA races and would never be so presumptuous to get deeply involved in the inner workings of the way it conducts it's business. Dan has posted pages of material about an nhra problem and probably isn't a member of nhra much less a nhra racer.

And yes, Dan you do have to have some skin in the game to be taken seriously. Not just a bunch of soccer referee info that to me seemed out of place.

So basically NHRA admitted there was a problem. They identified what caused the problem, yet said they are going to continue on with the same format in which they said caused the problem???

I like it when you beg.

Are you going to Tulsa? I will be there if I can get out of the NHRA detention.

Bruce:
Lets make this clear !
If NHRA had Pure Stock I would be there.
I have raced NHRA for decades and likely before many were born.

Again you are attacking me instead of the issue.
Raced on many tracks ill prepared and not properly prepped.
Long before VHT was invented.

Getting back to your comment!
Skin in the Game is being here for the betterment of our sport.
The whole sport !!
I care and provocative enough hoping NHRA is watching this web site.
If they are not, they are damn negligent.

The message is having very safe tracks.
Our lives are on the line for their profit making organization.

You want to know what SKIN in the Game is ?
Soccer it is a competitive sport as racing.
Become a Certified Decision Maker in any Sport including Drag Racing.
Yeah they have their versions. All organizations do.

Then have to deal with yourself.
Lets see how you deal with hot games, ill mannered parents, coaches and players.(public)

The experience is similar to Public Protection and having to deal with public issues.
You train for the good and tough practicing how to deal with the behavior.

We all play in a high risk sport that insurance companies fear supporting.
Try getting Life Insurance if the Broker knew you were racing.

One last thing.
Whether you want to take me seriously is not my problem.
It is yours...

See you at the races.

Dan

Re: NHRA's Response - Summernationals

My ribs are reconnected and got clearance from my doc, but the NHRA has to do a full body cavity search before they are satisfied that I am not carrying any contraband. Little do they know that is why the sheep looks extra fluffy.

Maybe they will get all they need in the next couple of days, accept my new policy of not crashing, and show enough mercy that I get to debut the LSxxx I got from you.

I think it has promise.

This year is bit limited frustrated by a repaired shoulder.

Being provocative just enough because NHRA is looking at this web site.
If they are not, they are being negligent.

Much like some of the behavior here.

To give you an example of my experience.
Ref an intense Sport is not much different than the Public Protection Industry having to deal with the public.
Involves the Good and Tough.
You train for it and recognize how to deal with the behavior.

Dan,
Let me be clear. I think you are entitled to your opinion. And that's it.

Like many others here, I don't buy your soccer comparisons to nhra and feel you are incorrect about "Mr. Barton." You make many strong statements and yet you were not at Englishtown and you were not even eligible to race at the event.

Finally, I do not take your long winded posts seriously and do not consider it to be a problem. But, I do think it is important to point out that you have pushed yourself into a discussion that has no impact on you or your racing. This debate is about the poor racing conditions at Englishtown and a racer who pushed back against those conditions. We need to support his struggle.

I'm going to get some popcorn before your next installment arrives.

Lets see, 720 miles from my driveway to Tulsa and I really enjoy the cool weather they have up there....sure why not.

And don't worry about NHRA, I'll write you a note for the Early Race Release Program.

Glad you're doing better.

RJ
