What is there to not understand? Even a junk T-5 can be shifted clutchless with the right clutch. A Jerico or G-Force shifts clutchless even quicker with the same clutch. I am not sure of the hype of the clutchless trans vs the cost, but then that is truly SS territory.

Either way it's still shifting gears and to each their own.

Curious as to what the clutch has to do with it, if it remains applied. ??

Yeah..........exactly
You either convert to clutchless internals or crash the crap out of the lugs. The GF5R and LS5000 are nothing more than a Nash with a few upgrades.
In my case mine's faceplated , does not have split sliders and as far as I know needs some power "interrupt" at gear changes. I could be wrong............he may be suggesting very low base , playing with c'weight and so on.......but I have no reason to attempt shifting mine clutchless.............I'm that good , really. :D

You use the clutch to get it out of the gear you're in..to take the load off the flank of the lugs.
It'll usually go into the next set of lugs to come along.
I suppose, if you pull hard enough, it'll come out of the prior gear.

I don't know about that T5 deal either. The last one I had wouldn't even shift over 6 grand, with the clutch!...Not until I slick shifted it.
Even then I wouldn't want to lean on that rail shift deal, without a clutch.

Dirk Ive had several emails and calls saying it won't work, no one will actually show up, arguments already that it needs to be a D1 or D3 track(racers in these divisions think the rest of us don't exist) etc etc. Last time I busted *** for 6 months getting 20+ sponsors over 7k for just one class and I had negative comments about that. Well I say wtf to that. Who else did that much for one class damn I just wanted to help some of my fellow racers out. I still would like to do something maybe if D4 has a real national open(not that 1/8 mile crap like at Ennis) I could round up some sponsors for class eliminations or something. Well see.......

Joe and Mark,
Shifting face plated trans without clutch just requires yanking the crap out of it,once you pull it out of the gear it's in, it falls in the next, My brother ran his Jerico for 5 seasons racing every weekend and shifted it clutchless 4 1/2 of them before he had to replace a slider and ring or 2.
As far as clutch goes you can lower pressure when not using clutch to shift.
I have shifted a few gears without clutch in a pro shifted trans by accident.
As soon as I have a face plated trans I most likely will shift without the clutch.

Last time I ran my stick shift Dakota, I was invited to the barn to pull the trans so Tech could look at it. No one else in tear down could figure out what I was doing until I rolled out with it and put it on the bench.

Anyone else do that before ?
