Re: Cool race car names!
Mack, hope to see that DP car of yours at the track sometime soon....Yes, those cars sure are making their owners serve a "apprenticeship" in order to achieve success at the track w/them, but no different from anything else that's new, for sure.....Best wishes with it....WJ

WJ,
Not in 1972. I think just the low-compression 455 with a big Quadrajet Wonder what the headers cost for that 72' Buick. Also, the purple carpeting,,,,,wall-to-wall:) PC Anybody ever run a Chrysler Cordoba, with the fine Corinthian leather. |

Re: Cool race car names!
I had a couple......67 Chevelle 396/375(rated @ 425) called 'Aggravation', a 69 Camaro 427/425 called 'Law and Order'. I drove a 65 hemi Dodge called 'The Reverend Mr. Black', and Alfred Walker's 68 Camaro Pro Stocker called "The Savage Rat'. I also owned a 72 Vega from Scuncio Chevrolet that was more street car than race car, that was known as 'Streetmaster' and paid for itself more than once. Anybody remember Bobby Brown's 'Goldfinger' 66 Chevelle?

Re: Cool race car names!
Sure do Arnold. There is a picture of it on one of the Jalopy Journal threads. I've been told that David Surles also owned that car at one time. Do you know if that is true?

Ryan It was awesome to see these old names I spent many a night in your garage working on your dads car. When I saw Jim and Audrey's name it took me back to the night we chopped the roof, We started talking about how cool it would look with the roof chopped and Audrey threatened us not to chop it, she and jim mad the mistake of going to dinner and by the time they got back your dad and I had taken I believe it was 4 inches out of the roof. When she looked at it she loved it. It then got the Candy Apple Perl Morono Blue paint job. There used to be a guy called Pink also don't remember his real name but he always ran a front engine digger of course it was painted pink. Lots of memories at OCIR. John Stanyan |
