A question from little Waibel

To all my friends in drag racing,

My mom and dad said I could put a post on here.

I am very sad today because my #1 fan my pop-pop (mommy's dad) was told he has liver cancer he has alot of war medals from korea and is very sick and has never seen me race only in pictures. Dad and my Grandpa Jimmy Waibel all say racers are a big family and I wanted to see if all of my friends and even those I have not met Iam only 10 could pray for him ?

mom and dad can tell you more but i just wanted to ask you all this favor, Iam going to miss my pop-pop and hope he will be with me a long time but I rember uncle terry and cancer.
Thank you

Jacob Waibel
Driver of the K&N JR dragster:(

Hi Jacob (and entire Waibel family :D) it was very nice of you to post that, shows how much you care about pop-pop, I am sure he appreciates it, and, what a nice and thoughtful young man you have become. Of course we will pray for him, and your family, in their time of need. Take care my little racing buddy, Mike (driver of the BackMotor Funny Car)

Jacob,
It saddens me to read your post but I know that you "pop-pop" appreciates your feelings and love you have for him. The racing community unites often for it's brothers and sisters and I will pray for your "pop-pop" , you and your family during this trying time. Take care young man and know that your racing friends will always be there if/when you need them.
Ronnie

Jacob,

I too will be praying for you and your family. You have a great family and it is sad that you have to deal with this. Just know that "Pop-pop" will always be riding with you down the strip and he'll be shining his light on you when you are holding the Iron Man in your hands.

Jacob, At 10 years old and care as you do about your family ( specially pop-pop) know that your pop-pop has as much pride in you that you have in him. As you can tell from all the replys the BIG family of racers are always ready to help out. Stay strong and know that the man upstairs has his hand on you and pop-pop and he will see you through this. God Bless you and stay strong.
