66 Chevy II and a Powerglide
So it appears that a Glide with a SFI shield wont fit in the tunnel on a 66 Chevy II? Anyone? Thanks.

It's a bummer , but either redo the tunnel , or swap to a certified case and bellhousing .

Re: 66 Chevy II and a Powerglide
When I had my Chevy 2 I bought a CSI super shield. Somehow I got it put on once. The next time I pulled the trans I fought and fought that thing. I ended up throwing it in the corner where it laid untill I put my Camaro together. It fits on it but makes trans and engine swaps quite interesting.

Re: 66 Chevy II and a Powerglide
I tried installing a TCI flexplate shield on a stock case PG for HOURS the last time I reinstalled the engine in a '66 Nova. I bent it, cut it, and actually removed parts of it, until there was so little left that it didn't even look like what it was. It was in a box of loose parts I was given when I bought the car, and that experience made it clear why. However, a TCI aluminum trans shield (the unit that covers the "body" of the transmission) would fit.
