I have a few pictures of our new car, a 2015 Drag Pack 392 N/A. I'm working on it daily. I retired the pink car the end of last year. We plan on racing the new car soon, we hope. More later.

While Dumbo doesn't quite have the ring of "AARP" Cuda at least the little fella is an elephant and most of the caricatures of Dumbo have pink ears at least so we'll have to settle for that much pink. Good luck with it; will miss seeing you at the Gators.

Larry, You could still paint the Challenger pink for "others to see". Or white. Thought you may find these definitions interesting and food for thought:
"The elephant in the room" is a problem that everyone knows is there but no one wants to acknowledge. A "white elephant" is a troublesome or costly possession that's hard to get rid of. A "pink elephant" is something that people are said to see quite often when they're drunk. It's a drunken hallucination. Looking forward to seeing it whatever way it's painted. |

It will be fitted with Classic Instruments gauges. The one gauge I'm excited about is the Stock Eliminator Water Temperature Gauge, range 40*F to 220*F. John said Lance, Ben, and Jason Line helped in the development of the gauge at CI

I pulled the dash out of it to clean and install new Classic Instruments gauges. Besides having water temp from 40* to 220* all the gages send information to the F.A.S.T. system, or as I understand it, it will work with the Holley system to record the data from all the gages.

Boxes and boxes of new parts. One box is 77'' long, a little longer and Patsy could use it as my casket and it would save her a ton of money. The boxes will be re-purposed this week. One of our sales people has a toddler so this weekend the boxes will become a Fort, a Castle, and or a tunnel. Oh what fun. Next set of pictures has grill mounted in fascia, SRT. We are trying real hard to get car to paint next week. We have to get hood mounted so it will match the rest of the car. Sometimes you get more than you pay for. Wires for the smart windows, look at all the extra splices I got for one easy payment. I owe a big thank you to John Donato. John helped make a game plan to make all this spaghetti more palatable and work as intended. Back to work |

I got a few used parts to put on the car. You can't have a race car without a few used parts. In my car I always have something in it that is from my lost friend and partner in crime, Jerry Newsom. I saved myself a few bucks but the best part was the waking and searching.

Surprise, I found a serial # on the car in two places. Had local dealership punch it in and zero information returned. Its like it never was made
Now entering the phase of, is this protected enough from potential over spray. Is this tight and finished or do I need to revisit. A tip of the hat to my parts guy at the local dealership. He has helped me find the unusual parts, like the threaded backup plate for the hood hinges. Goal today: fused test wiring harness for the car. |

#051 Drag Pack is being changed to a 2015 392 N/A Drag Pack. It was a running car that won best engineered at a points race.

We have brakes and got the passenger window adjusted so the window fits inside the weather striping. That was all the "fun" a person wanted to have in an afternoon. I had to retrain the plastic windows.

Good job Larry. Brakes and trying to get the windows to work are next on my project. I still need a set of headers for a Gen 3 Hemi for a Challenger if anyone has some for sale ! Also looking for a small block 727 Protrans Anyone?

Its almost ready to go to the paint shop. When the car is being painted the shop will be uncluttered. Those big old boxes really eat up floor and shelf space.
Then the new learning curve will start on the new Gen 3 Hemi elephant motor. 2015 Drag Pack 392 N/A. I'm going to be lost, no carbs, no distributor, no jets to change, and its all done with a computer, This looks like a sure recipe for a disaster. |

''Royale with Cheese'' a Pulp Fiction fan? don't forget the mayonnaise for the fries. The torque from the six pack was close to 600 at the hit, it's the seven inch longer wheel base that has me concerned.
A little help here....what is a rs232 port? I was hoping to tune it with my new, to me anyway, EYE Phone V. Or is it Iphonefive. It will be new and different for sure! |

The two places I found serial numbers. The base of passengers side lower windshield mount close to "A" pillar. To see it I had to remove windshield and dash pad. The second one is located on the drivers side interior rocker panel under the carpet and sill trim just about where the seat adjustments are. On mine it's a stippled stamping of 7H000299

The car did come with a computer to download the runs. Its a small laptop with a real small keyboard, so its difficult for me to hit only one key at a time. It feels like I'm trying to type with the big end of a pool cue.

Yesterday was a bad day. I discovered that early driver's side drag pack headers will not work with late model heads. The attachment bolt holes on # 3 and 5 are in the wrong place. The fix is easy: buy some stainless steel, fabricate four custom fit ears, bolt header to head, tack weld ears in place. Almost forgot, make welding fixture to bolt header to to minimize distortion during welding. Let cool then weld opposite side, refinish flange side and put in service.
Today is going to be better than yesterday, the paint shop will be receiving the car @ 1:00 PM. I just have to fix leak on differential. I must have been skimpy on the sealant. We are going to paint hood red without blacked out scoop. |

We took three days off to drive 1600 miles and see some old friends, do a little work, and learn about the gen III hemi. Now it's back to work.

Got some much needed interior parts at the semi local bone yard. It was only a 125 mile round trip. Ah the perks of living in the country
A friend of mine went to the Holley school for FI and now he thinks the Holley stuff could, in a pinch, run the space station. I'm going to need a catch-can for my brain. |

Only had to make a few parts to get heads on the flow bench. I dont know how good they will run but the new castings are pretty consistent port to port. I did pick up some flow on the exhaust side. I got the header flange to match the port better.

Tomorrow I will be playing with alcohol. I will check all the runners and chamber volumes for correct cc. Now is the time to get it right. That way in tear down I can be fearless because it will comply with the rules. Everyone knows that almost right is still wrong. Not to be confused with "The Daily Ledger".

I have that info in shop, I will text to you. I have set of Kooks SS and MR2 headers, I will keep the best one and sell the other one.
I know the feeling 392 @ 400 from MoPar, NHRA adjustment before first run 392 / 400 now 392 @ 430 Is it an over kill to have Kirke racing seats with a "Rich Corinthian Leather" seat cover? Just asking! |

Pored alcohol all day and only lost 1/2 a qt. The heads are legal right out of the box. The runners are good and the chamber is big 5 to 6 cc. I will run it that way and then recheck before we make an adjustment.
Does anyone how much to cut to reduce chamber size by 1 cc? Thanks |

Normally, .006 per cc is fairly close.
