I hope whatever is going on West of Salina on I70 is over before you get there. All traffic was diverted, it was a 30 mile excursion North and past the Ellsworth exit. Be safe

If you ain't never been here you need to put it on your list. It's a unique felling you get when you stage you car in the same place as racers did at the first US Nationals. There's a lot of things to like at this well cared for historical track. For the "pit snobs", Don are you listening, pits are concrete. Electric service is $50 for the weekend, first come first serve. On site dump station. Friendly folks and "town" is five minutes away. A lot to like.

Well it is another warm day here in Great Bend. 88 now going up to 91. Tech has started and test and tune is from 2-6. Larry is going to try out his new brake line and make sure everything works. It is only about a mile shut down area here, so I am sure he will get stopped before the end. It is really windy too. Larry Deforrest said putting up his awning in 16 mph wind was challenging! I took a few pictures that I will post later. Lots of rigs here and more still pulling in.

I wholeheartedly agree! When this track was added to the D5 schedule more than 15 years ago the points meet was in August, - 105 degrees that weekend but I just had to go and glad I went. Now if they could just do something about the wind....:)

Yes, the wind was killer all day! Larry got in 5 runs for test and tune this afternoon. Hooked every time and got some good information. I took a few pics:

Test and tune was the best I have been at for a long while. Thanks for not wasting my money as so many tracks have done in the past. Top Sportsman went down the track with only a few wiggles that I saw. The runway, track, is pretty smooth and real long. I wonder what track was longer Great Bend or Scribner Nebraska

Well it is a gray dreary day here in KS! Super street has been called, with stock next. Everyone is getting 1 run then straight into eliminations as far as we can get. Rain is coming! Looks like we should be good til mid afternoon, then maybe not again until Sun afternoon. But we are running as long as we can! Well we are back home after leaving Great Bend yesterday morning and driving in the rain about half of the time going home the 687 miles. Drove right thru St. Louis, but that is another story! I do have more pictures from Great Bend that I will post today!
