Mooresville Pro Am Results - Congrats Wilson & Beard

Congratulations to Michael Beard for his win today in Super Stock driving Johnny Fishers Mirada. Tracy Robbins was runner up. I'm sure this was just icing on the cake for Beard after last weeks impressive Win and Runner Up at Bristol.

Stock winner was Billy Wilson in the Father Time Chevy Station Wagon - you know chicks dig wagons, right? (I've got a wagon myself ;) ) Richard Alford was runner up. Scott and I met Ed and Kathy Wilson this past week - another two great people we've met while class racing. Ed is having some medical issues so I know having his picture taken with his son meant the world to him. Hope you get to feeling better Ed!! I'll be emailing the pictures I took shortly.

Congrats to all the winners and runner ups!! Great job guys!

I'm uploading the pictures I took this weekend as we speak (post) - I was a little slack on picture taking on Saturday as we were removing and installing driveshafts ever five minutes, so please forgive. My Super Stock coverage could improve. See you guys next week at Piedmont - be there or be square. :)

Long story - and some nongirl stuff goes with it, so lets see if I can get this right....

We ordered this fancy smancy $500 Chrome Omolie (I know that's spelled wrong, but I'm not sure what that means or how it's spelled - all I know is it's the shiniest driveshaft ever) and Scott put it in before Piedmonts Stock/Super Stock combo race. It shook like heck - so Tim Sloan put him in Hillarey's car again. Lost 2nd round. Oh wait....other part to that story - when they sent it they sent us the wrong "yoke" - it was for a 727 transmission and clearly we have the smaller 904 (no by choice), clearly the bill said 904 as well. Scott put a yoke he had on it prior to the Piedmont event. Thinking it could possibly be the old yoke making it shake, Scott decided to put the correct yoke in and try it (it showed up Fed Ex several days after Piedmont). On the jack stands Thursday night Scott thinks it is still shaking - so he puts "old faithful" - the 40 year old driveshaft he ran at Rockingham back in it not wanting to take a chance with the shiny one. First pass yesterday the car is shaking again. WTF?! This driveshaft did fine at Rockingham, now it's vibrating again?? So apparently Scott had changed the u-joint and yoke from the shiniest driveshaft ever and put it on "old faithful" - so he changes it BACK to how it was at Rockingham and it didn't shake. So just out of curosity, now we're thinking maybe its the yoke and u-joint from the shiny driveshaft causing the vibration (which still didn't make sense but Scottie was a little frustrated and wasn't much into talking this out with me) and not the driveshaft itself. Last thing we want to do is send back the shiniest driveshaft ever and find out it really is straight and balanced. Wouldn't we look like boobs then? So we tried it first round of the combo and it still shook, so back in goes Old Faithful. And as if we hadn't made good enough friends with the jack and jack stands during the day, the rear end started clunking 2nd or 3rd round. Scott dealt with it and somewhere forgot to tell me about this little issue until the semi's. So Scott had the bye to the final and Lee Truells (a good friend of ours) won the semi final round, so we just split with Lee and didn't run the final, went ahead and changed the rear end rather than risk messing the trans up too. So Scott has officially changed everything from bumper to bumper this year. Sorry for the novel and hoped that all made sense. And don't quote me on all that because even I'm confused on what happened between old faithful and shiny driveshaft.

Re: Mooresville Pro Am Results - Congrats Wilson & Beard

Good job to you too Tracy, and great job on thrashing a starter on the car in short order!

Told you that Vette runs 5.71 every single time we race! (Yikes!) My buddies there thought I took about 6 car lengths, and it looked like it to me inside the car, too. I ran the numbers, and it was only .025! That car is one bad unit... hauls butt! I heard somebody ask you in the lanes if that was a different motor to run SS/AM, but I didn't overhear the answer. New pieces, or just new vinyl?

Re: Mooresville Pro Am Results - Congrats Wilson & Beard

Yes Michael, it's a different motor that we are just easing into so to speak. It should be a little quicker at Piedmont as this was our very first weekend running it. As a matter of fact I was working on it in my garage until about 8:30 Friday night trying to get it ready, so the combo race was our test session on this combination. Two great weekends in a row for you...congrats again!

Tell me more, and I'll try to get it in the race coverage. I like being able to add those kind of tidbits. Post here, or just e-mail me at beard@staginglight.com.

Oh, I forgot to thank Michael Beard and Scott Macy for all of their input on "TRYING" to get everything straightened out with me/the car (LOL!) this weekend. We ordered a new converter today and hopefully we can get it in by Piedmont. We think that was causing the pushing (the gear tightened it up quite a bit). Thanks, you guys are great.

Thanks Angela for posting my picture! I was excited to show Julia, "Mama's car". Julia can't read, but she enjoys looking at the pictures of Drag Review. Once she learns a driver or a car, she searches for them. She found Lisa Bingham's QR dragster in the background of a picture a couple of issues ago. She should do well in K-4 if there is an assignment of find the race car!
The wheels of my car look nice and shiney now, because of the tip I learned from you about the Mother's Power Ball.
I had a lot of sample chemical testing to do yesterday, so I didn't get to post. However, congratulations to Billy Wilson and Michael Beard. Thanks for proving to me that a slower car can win!

King - baring nothing uneventful I will be at Piedmont taking pictures. And I got permission to walk out to the grassy area from Mike McCandless so hopefully I can get some nice shots from that angle. They have a cool deck on the roof of the building beside the tower that is a good spot to get fun shots from as well.

Eddie - hope Billys hand won't prevent him from racing this weekend. Hope your day at the hospital goes well too - I am coordinating a blood drive for the end of July - I can reference you personally and your situation when convincing my guys that a small prick in the arm is well worth it when your helping out someone who is dealing with a heck of a lot more pain than a small prick.

Stacie - Power Ball all the way - elbow grease is a thing of the past!!

Also, congrats to Tracy Robbins. You did a great job this weekend. Thanks for letting Case be in your picture with Logan, it made her day. See you Friday.

Father Time.....let me know how Billy's hand is doing, you can e-mail me if you want. Give my girls a kiss and a hug!

Thanks everyone...one round shy once again but I'll take r/u anyday! Logan was insisted he go back and get Case for the picture, even if it was w/ the car broken down on the trailer. Thanks again for the help from the whole Stott crew getting the car loaded after the race.

Tom - I can email it to you which may or may not be bigger - I know I emailed Beard a link from photobucket and it wasn't a good resolution or something, but emailing him the picture direct was a lot better...made no sense to me but he said it was different. Either post your email or shoot me one at macyenterprises@yahoo.com

I noticed I was a tad late on my reaction time taking that picture....it happens, I bet you all can relate ha ha. If you're at Piedmont I'll try and get a better shot of the whole car.

Tom - did you notice this one? It's show the whole car but is in the other lane and slightly blocked by the signs in the middle. I can email you both pics and any others you want.
