All events should be posted in the event section. Your thread was moved to the event section.

Re: Censorship!

Cambria,

If your having issues with way I run this forum please email me. If you want to do this on the forum if front of other members, I can also accommodate you.

I would have thought a section for events only would make it easy on members to see what events are up coming.

Obviously you feel it was unfair to move your thread to the events section. I'm not sure why, maybe you can enlighten me?

cambria 08-11-2008 11:04 PM

Re: Censorship!

Because all the readers are in the main section.Look at the difference in hits.

Re: Censorship!

Members know how to scroll down and look for information that they want. Is it to much to ask to put your event in the proper section?

Re: Censorship!

I have to admit...I generally log on and go right to the stock/superstock section of the forum. I didn't even know the Event section was there.

I understand the need to separate things out so any one forum doesn't get clogged, but I found it convenient to see the events in the original forum listings. I guess it takes time for a less-observant viewer (me) to catch on.

Re: Censorship!

One of the girly websites I go to completely ruined their message board for me because they have way too many forums - like 27!!! Its very overwhelming and time consuming to look under each forum at each topic, so I don't bother looking at it anymore, nevertheless figuring out where you want to post something. Like others said, I typically just go to the main section and see what is going on there. I want to go to one forum and look at all the topics posted and see if anything interests me - not have to back out and go look under several other forums to see what else is going on. My thoughts are this place isn't nearly active enough to justify having subforums (if thats a word), especially one for Events. Please let us post them here.

P.S. My favorites link goes straight into Stock and Super Stock so I don't even know what else is going on. I didn't know the Lounge existed until my Dog topic got moved. Notice those other forums don't get nearly the views this forum gets. More views mean more people will show up to a race, and more people showing up to a race means "hobby security" for us. Its for the best :)

Labeling something as “censorship”, when no government entity is involved, is extremely juvenile and irresponsible.

It redefines the meaning of hyperbole.

as they say in the biz I rest my case about the main forum. As for Bunkster you are still a wheasel hiding behind no identity.Be a man identify yourself like the rest of us.
And by the way you dont have to be the government to cause censorship only only unconstitutional censorship.

Re: Censorship!

Fortunately or unfortunately for some, I am the judge and jury for Class Racer. And as they say in my "biz" the case is closed. Please place your up coming race events in the event section.

Paul, please do not insult other members because they choose to use an alias.

Angela Macy 08-13-2008 02:57 PM

Re: Censorship!

Just curious, but why was topics in this very forum, such as this one http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=12227 or this one http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=12248 or this one http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=12061 or this one http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=11668 that were adveristing (if you will) up coming races/events allowed to stay in this forum and not moved to the Events forum by Admin, but Pauls topic advertising an event was?

Why does Admin jump on Paul for "insulting" an Alias but has never jumped on an Alias for insulting Paul?

Based on Admins reply, I take it Admin as a personal problem with Paul. Therefore they choose to move his topics but not others. That's discrimination, isn't it?

I was merely making a suggestion of how to make your board more user friendly, thus more views and hits, thus more return for your sponsors. PLUS, more views for events, means more participation, means more class racing, means more need for a message board, which means more hits, which means more appealing website for potential sponsors. Do whatever you want to, ultimately its going to benefit classracer.com just as much as it benefits racers. Somes cases need to be reopened and another ruling made, one where the Judge doesn't let their personal feelings for someone hinder their ruling. :)

Re: Censorship!

I never new there was an events section...doesn't seem to be so many items that a seperate section is needed for events. We need more participants at our Roxboro combo races (we are struggling enough as it is) and by moving these notices to another section it will only reduce the exposure. I don't understand what the problem is w/ posting events on the main page...maybe if it was explained better everyone would be more understanding. Personally, I rely heavily on this message board to get word out to local racers and I think we need to make it as easy as possible for them to increase our car count. Just my opinion, for what it's worth!

80 percent of the threads/topics are people whinning and complaining about some useless topic. when
was the last time someone actually started a thread about something interesting or racing related.
You guys need to race more LOL.

Tracy Robbins 08-13-2008 08:18 PM

Re: Censorship!

I raced two seperate events last weekend...both were posted on this message board for all "classracers" to see. No complaining here, just trying to support the tracks supporting us racers!

Angela Macy 08-13-2008 08:40 PM

Re: Censorship!

I disagree with the 80% comment of complaining - I post topics all the time after certain events with results and pictures - which is racing related and I hope interesting - I get a lot of positive feedback from it atleast, everyone likes looking at racing pictures.

Re: Censorship!

ss283, one is a softball game and the other is for charity.

Tracy, your opinion is welcomed, but we ask our members to please use the event section when posting events.

DJ, I think your the one that has a problem with me. Posting your going to be booted for stating your opinion on why the thread was moved is not only insulting, but inaccurate. You have be banned in the past for abusing the classifieds, not for your opinion. Posting that I have a problem with Paul is also inaccurate. I have moved many threads. There is no Canadian shootout thread. If you mean the challenge stock super stock in canada. That thread started before the new section was added. The thread has many posts and is more about the race and who is running it. Paul is the one that started this thread about censorship. Paul is the one who has issues with me, I have no problem with him posting as long as he follows the rules and ask he please place threads in there respective locations. As far as censorship goes, it is not an issue here. When members registered, they checked a box agreeing to the rules of Class Racer. http://classracer.com/forum_rules.html.

Angela, I did not jump on Paul, I merely asked him to not insult members because they use an alias. I have warned many members with alias by email. Paul choose to talk about this in a open forum instead of emailing me. If members have comments or issues they can contact me anytime, I would be more than happy to answer there questions. The threads you talk about are three pages back and were missed by me. I would think they would get more views in the events section by staying on the first page for a longer time. Discrimination is part of what I do here, It is not a bad word, it is necessary when running a forum. I respect your opinions but please follow the rules of Class Racer.

Guys,

This is a free board and we're all lucky as hell to have it.

None of us have any rights on this site. We can visit this site to find out the latest news and post our thoughts on any Sportsman issue. And we can sell our stuff for free - how the hell can you beat that?

Adding the Events section is a bonus for all of you who wish to advertise racing events.

It's free and you guys have the nerve to complain. WTF

Re: Censorship!

curious as to the identity of the administrator. i don't believe anyone should post in a public forum without identifying themselves. quite easy to speak nonsense when no one knows who is responsible.

sammy christian 08-14-2008 02:53 PM

Re: Censorship!

is 1664 SSJA supposed to be a car number and class designation? can't find you in any points standings, either sanction, any year. why is that? after some research- you don"t show up anywhere of significance, except for maybe being some washed old old wanna be from "cruise night circuit" around york and that gem- beaver springs. i'm guessing you are from the era when, because you drove to the track and put a shoepolish class designation on the window, wallah!- you are a super stock racer?
i believe that anyone that needs to know, does know of my connection to mr. cambria's racing efforts.
you talk pretty tough for a nobody.

Yo Ken 08-14-2008 04:29 PM

Re: Censorship!

Sammy, my name is Ken Miele. I do not feel as if knowing the name of the administrator is important. Most know who I am, I'm sure there are some who don't. I do not think most members care who runs the site as long as they have a place to exchange ideas and use the services of the classifieds.

Mark is only pointing out his opinion about me and Class Racer. There is no need to insult him because he does not currently race. All he said was, if you do not like the way this site is run, you do not have to participate. I hope you choose to be apart of Class Racer, but I do understand if you do not. Your connection to Paul is not an issue, you can state your opinion and disagree with the way Class Racer is run, but please try to be respectful of other members even though they may not seem like they are to you.

One more thing Sammy. This is not a public forum to exchange ideas, only members that I have approved cant post here. It is a membership that's not open to the general public. We have rules and we would hope members try to follow them. I have no issues with any members that do not agree with the way the site is run. All I ask of the members is to please follow the rules.

I was curious who you are too - just hate **** chat'n with people and them knowing who I am but I don't know who they are. I now know you're the guy with the Cobra Jet Mustang - so if I see the car I'll know there goes the class racer guy :)

ken thanks for your response.
as far as respecting others on here- i would have to say my reply to 1664ssja would never have taken place had it not been for his blatant disrespect for my right to ask a question.

Re: Censorship!

Wow I have been on trial in Virginia all week and have not read all of these until now.My only intent was to be treated equally.I am a track owner and I wanted to post events like others do and where they do.That was my only purpose. If the rules apply to all alike I am fine with that.As far as bunkster and insulting him I dont remember you calling him out when he insulted Bo Kenny. At that time I felt that he should not be able to blast someone and not be man enough to identify himself and I still feel that way.And if he makes any of his asshole comments again I am going to blast him again for not being man enough to identify himself.
One thing you have to say Ken my posts gather interest-----over 5,000 hits! By the way Ken are you the lawyer from Santa Barbara? And finally I notice the Labour Day stock super stock race in Canada has been left by you in the main area it is things like that that made me ask what gives in the first place. What is the difference between that and my announcement of a stock super stock race at lancaster the day before?

Jim Wahl 08-17-2008 10:18 PM

" By the way Ken are you the lawyer from Santa Barbara?"

Now that's funny! I don't care who you are! Jim

Yo Ken 08-17-2008 10:33 PM

Re: Censorship!

I have ask you nicely to please respect the rules and place your threads and or posts in there respective sections. Please do not worry about what the other members post or were they post threads.

You could not possible know who I asked or did not ask to be respectful of others. I asked you to contact me by email, which you did not. When I warn other members, most of the time it is through emails.

I am not a lawyer from Santa Barbara. Again please do not worry about other threads and try to respect the other members even though it may not be easy, it shows other members you are the better person.

If you have any other issues to discuss, feel free to contact me.

That was funny Jim, if Paul only new what type of education I really had.

I'm VERY disappointed that a Moderator basically flat out admits that there are inconsistencies on this board on how rules are enforced. Just as in drag racing, it ought to be consistent. You wouldn't like it if a Tech Official said it was ok for Joe Blow to have Nitous on his car but not you, then told you "Don't worry about what other people put on their cars". :( :( :( :( :(
