Yoo B.

This just like running a National. You will pay $250.00. You will not get a grading point i believe. I was there last year to help a friend in Top Sportsman. It is lots of fun. They will tech you just like a Div Race.

Have fun and if i am there look me up..

Lee, I thought S/ST got points towards Div points ??

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

you get div points but not a grading point.

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

check with the nhra office on the grading point issue...

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

If I remember correctly, National points for all but S/ST. They get Divisional points.
Rock has the best answer - check with NHRA.
Hope to see you out there!

Lynn

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

When we sign up for the Nationals at 66 we do not get a grading point in S/ST. So i figure they are doing the same for the Sport Nationals.
I too would check with the Div Office.

S/ST-T/S-T/D get a grading point and Div.points.Every one else gets Nat. points.I think its because we dont have a Nat. Champ in those classes.

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

Roger would know.....I thought it was different....for S/ST....

If I understand it correctly, you only need to have grade points to pre-enter the race. You can still show up and race, but I think it costs a little more. I think??

It will count as an out of div. race but count for divisional points.
I raced Belle Rose and that is how my points show up.
Too bad last years Columbus race didn't count for me - hated being claimed out!!!!

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

well, made another phone call, and its true...you have to have one point to even run,pre-enter or not, they will chack at the gate when you come in....so,ill have to start next year..oh well...gives me more practice time..

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

How many time trials will we get on Saturday? Are the Super Shootouts any different than at Divisionals? Thanks

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

I'm asking for a friend, do they use last years grade points or this years. He was planing on just showing up and entering...............he ran 3 div races this year and none last year, trying to save him gas money if he can't get in........................Also what is the difference between driver points and grade points?

Roger Weaver 09-03-2008 06:01 PM

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

Bob
I think the way they do it is they take the last 3 years grading points divided by 3, that is what he ends up with.I think you only need 1 grading point to enter.

Bob Verwold 09-03-2008 06:35 PM

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

Roger, I went on line to enter for myself and it showed 2 grade points and 4 driver points so I didn't know what the difference was. Having only run two races last year because of motor trouble I though the grade points came from last year.......................Guess he can call NHRA............

Re: jegs sportsnationals in columbus

Your current grade in the grading system is previous year or current year beginning January 1. Whichever is greater. Hope this helps.

I have a flyer in front of me right now that states.......Minimum of 1 grade point required for entry online. Zero grade point racers must enter at the gate. It costs $235 Gate/Late entry. The way I read it is you can enter with zero grade points for $235 as long as the quota isnt full, plus the insurance fee.

Does the flyer say anything about the crew pass cost ? Can't seem to find that anywhere.........
