Stockers crash at Bowling Green - nobody hurt

A yellow I/S Nova and a red F/S Camaro got together after crossing the finish. I did not go down to watch the clean up, but was told that the Camaro may have been driven by Brian Rogers. Both drivers are fine. Apparently the Nova had some problems at the finish line and crossed from the left lane over to the right lane. The Nova hit the wall at some point and did some heavy damage to the right side of the car. Not sure about the damage to the Camaro - if any. The Nova was loaded up and moved off the track and the word was the the Camaro may have been able to leave under it's own power. Lots of tire smoke, with boths cars spinning around but neither went over.

Some new information on the accident. The red Camaro was in F/SA? and Brian was not the driver.

By looking at the ladder, it looks like the !/S car was B. Mahlosky and the F/SA was R. Grant.

Patsy,

The details are always a little fuzzy right after an accident but I think you are right about the I/S car and supposedly the Camaro is a D 3 car.

Re: Stockers crash at Bowling Green - nobody hurt

The red F/SA camaro was Richard Grant, and the Nova was my fathers(Bobby Mahlosky). Grant locked the brakes at the finishline, and crossed from right to left, and put my father into the wall facing the starting line. Both guys are alright thankfully, Both cars were damaged, but luckily when they were spinning around neither car flipped or anything of that sort. I guess it could have been much much worse, but it sucks.

Hate to see cars get tore up because of drivers dialing soft. Glad know one was hurt. There should be fines & suspensions for this action. it sure as hell stop alot of this practice.

I agree, if you stomp the brakes that hard in a non emergency situation, you should be suspended for a year

I was a little aggitated to see that a fellow competitor, at the same present event, who obviously did not see the wreck for himself, nor have his facts straight, would get on here and start a thread about an accident. I agree, irresponsible journalism.

I was watching the crash from the finish line on the opposite side of the pits, and it was amazing that neither driver was injured. The camaro locked the brakes up, hit the nova, then backed into the wall nearest to me. The nova also hit the wall. I was really surprised that that neither rolled over. I'm just glad everyone was ok.

Chad Maholsky,

I too was sitting in the stands when the accident happened and like you say things were happening very quickly down there with smoke and cars swirling. Sorry you are so agitated but I must inform you that I am not a journalist. And even the very best of reporters fail to get the facts straight from time to time. This thread won't be the first or last thread on the Internet that takes awhile to sort out. It was still an important event to post about, and like you, I'm very glad that no one was injured.

As for the gentleman over on the other site - he is always taking cheap shots at us over here. Nothing new for him.

Jeff, Back tracking??? I don't think so. I was offering info as it became available and that does not amount to back tracking in my world. You guys seem very anxious over there.

Hello Chad I'm glad to see that Bobby was ok. Hope ya'll get everything fixed ASAP. If you bring some 9in slicks here to Bowling Green I can get a letter from some body that my Undercover dragster came with a 1050CFM carb. and it fits A/SA and your welcome to it until Pops gets his fixed. Later Tom Flowers

Good grief! Symantics...back-tracking, updating, upon review....however you wish to phrase it! I was just pointing out to Dave Young that a moderator did indeed make a post on the subject and how it evolved. So quit being such a thin skinned yankee!

bruce only reported what he thought happened... in effort to let everyone know... unfortunately for him he had a 50 - 50 chance on who caused it and got it wrong.

i am sure he in no way meant to miss report or attack the wrong racer.

jack mccarthy

and MJ was'nt wrong... he could'nt drive a lick in bowling green ... LOL

Re: Stockers crash at Bowling Green - nobody hurt

I gotta give Bruce a pass on this one. He tried, I think he really tried to get the correct info out. It would really be stupid to intentionally misinform people about this as you have to know it will come back to bite you later when all the facts are known. I know some of us have had disagreements with Bruce, but to continue to beat him up about this really serves no good purpose. Please just thank God nobody was hurt and let it go. Jim
