because i asked a question?

Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
I would say when "Rubber Duck" made his first post stating he loved porn and so does (another racers) your wife, it was getting out of hand.

Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
I too wonder the same thing. On a vBulletin forum an admin should get in a thread and give warnings, clean it up a little if need be. If they have to lock the thread so no one else can post, but I feel that deleting a good informative thread really doesn't help anyone.
And Jeff, that thread was not getting out of hand because of the thread starter, it was out of hand because of the whiners. This is where a good admin comes in to clean it up a little. |
Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
DJ, no need to start trouble.
Sammy you will not be tossed for asking questions. The thread was removed not because of the thread itself, but the responses to the thread were getting out of line. Bo has not posted anything that I have a problem with. It seems though there were members joining just to start trouble. It was time for the thread to go. Jeff you are correct, rubber duck was one of the reasons. Lee, this thread has been on long enough to get all the info that is needed. We need to move on and let Bo handle his own issues with NHRA. |
Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
The admin. has the right to do what he pleases as long as we come here for free. It's called freedom. We have the freedom to go elseware for our information.
Ed F. Hey Ken how's Tom D.? |
Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
Well then admin. Why cant we just lock the thread and leave it for the public to read instead of deleting it? This is how we handle matters at all of the other public forums that I frequent.

Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
I'm sure Bo will handle his own issues. However, information in that thread is important to all of us. Legal vs. illegal. What can be lettered on a car/transporter/t-shirt etc. I can understand deletion of tastless posts. But the info on crankshaft definitions is invaluable to maintain the legality of a combo in SS that may be open to interpretation due to the "clarification" or lack of.

Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
Lee,
The thread you are referring had an earlier life and it did not turn out well. What would be the point of rehashing the whole mess once again? |
Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
Bruce, it really isnt that tough to keep an eye on threads and delete posts that move it in a negative direction. The thread that I was referring to was a very informative thread that a lot of people here would like to have information from.

Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
Lee,
Sometimes it's better to remove the entire thread than to attempt surgery. It's the administrator's call. We are all guests on this site/forum. The administrator has the right, if not the duty, to remove problematic posts or threads. |
Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
Well, that is why most boards have more than one person to police items like this.

Re: is admin. pulling controversial threads?
Lee,
There are several people who monitor the traffiic here on classracer. They help make it the best site/forum on the Internet for class racers. I'm sorry that it's not good enough to suit you. |
