Nitroplate Southern Stock Superstock Association Shoot out Results

Congratulations are in order for Brian Radley who was deadly consistant all day long cutting near perfect .001 lights and running mere thousandths off his dial in. Runner up who is no slouch of a driver was Mike Pearson.

On top of those winners we also had Ted Simpson with his beautiful 56 Chevy win a Best Appearing award and a Jax Wax kit. Scott Healms with his Impala won the Super Chevy Magazine's Editors Choice award for his clean car. Woodro Josey collected a Best Engineered award and low qualifier money in the stock category. Tina Summerton collected the money for super stock. There were also awrds given for best package each round, but I'll have to get the final count on who got what, but lets just say Brian Radley collected his fair share of the goods! Congrats to everyone that won something, and thanks to all who came out and supported us either by racing or spectating. We stole the show!

Congratulations to Brian Radley on a great win at the first Nitro Plate S/SS Shoot out. He had a great run the final round. .011 Rt and dead on the dial with a .003. Sure didnt leave me much room. I really enjoyed the race. The Super Chevy, Gainsville Raceway and the SSSSA crews did a fantastic job all weekend. I want to thank Chris and the rest of the Nitro Plate group for sponsoring the event and working hard to line up all of the different sponsorships for the race. There were lots of give a ways for all kinds of different winners. Hopefull Jim Woods will list all of the different winners of the contingency prizes. Nitro Plate had some really awsome plaques made up for the winner and R/U. I was lucky enough to recieve the one for R/U. Once again thanks to everyone that helped to put this race together.

Hey everybody....I just to say a BIG THANKS to everyone that came to race and to just hang out. Jim Woods and Jim Wahl have a good thing going (SSSSA) and it is only going to get bigger. I had the time of my life, except for first round. But at least I still have my job! (thanks Kevin) The weather was iffy but it worked out for us.

The 2nd Annual Nitroplate/ SSSSA Shootout will be bigger and better!!

Woodro, how ever you intended that, it came out bad. I mean, being under Crisco's post and all.

By the way Alan, Chris was doing a great job driving the white car, but he probably needs to stop picking on Kevin first round!

I'm 1 for 4 in the white car, so I'm batting 0.250, nothing to brag about. But I hadn't driven in 20 years either. Not much of an excuse though, and it sure doesn't make me feel any better.

I got to the race on Thursday and was greeted by Chris right away. He was parking rigs and working hard already. I then met Jeff Taylor from Super Chevy. I can't say enough about Jeff. This guy is a real organizer. What ever we needed he had already thought of it! This was a super experience and a lesson on how to organize an event. Super Chevy and Roger Gustin is a real class act. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you guys did to make this one of the most fun races I have ever done. We at the SSSSA look forward to working with NitroPlate and Super Chevy again soon. PRI dinner is coming soon! Hey Chris, how did you like your shirt?Jim

Hey Hammer...what kind of style is it...the kind where you win, or the bring-your-car-home-in-a-bunch-of-boxes kind? If it's the first kind, would you mind helping me? The second kind I've already figured out on my own. :D

Congratulations to winner Brian Radley and runner-up Mike Pearson! You guys did a great job in a field that had alot of great racers. Thanks to Chris Avaritt and NitroPlate, Roger Gustin and the folks from the Super Chevy Show and to Jim Woods and everyone from the Southern Stock/Super Stock Association for making this event possible for us. I would also like to thank Jax Wax, B&B Race Cars, R2C, NitroPlate, Hooker Headers, JEGS, Pit-Pro, S&W Race Cars, J.W. Performance Transmissions, Phoenix Racing Tires, Turbo-Action High Prtformance Transmissions, Hoosier Racing Tires, Biondo Racing Products, GOBOXES, PB Blaster, Trailer Bright, Speed Unlimited Inc, Ward Motorsports and Lakeland Motorsports Park for supporting this great race with contingncy awards.

Circumstances kept us from bringing our car up for the race and work kept me from getting to the race ubtil Sunday, but I'm glad that I was able to make it! Just walking around the pits was a treat with cars like Ted Simpson's beautiful SS/O 56 Chevy and the cool Q/SA 66 Impala driven by Scott Helms. The action on the track was great with Kevin Cradduck's crowd pleasing launches with the NitroPlate AA/SA Camaro and a field that had many of the best racers in the South including Brenda Grubbs, Woodro Josey and Painter Stevenson.

Paul and I really hated to miss bringing our car and competing at this race, but we hope to be able to race at the SSSSA races at Lakeland in November and Palm Beach in December, We definitely want to race at the Super Chevy Show in Gainesville in 2009 too!

Congratulations Brien and Mike. You both drove like you were on a mission. Especially Mike when he slapped that .009 light on the poor guy in the other lane in round 3.

I want to thank Roger and Jeff for inviting us to be a part of the Super Chevy Show. There's no doubt that everyone had a great time and that is what it's all about. A special thanks goes out to Jim Woods and the whole crew from the Southern Stock Super Stock Association. We couldn't have done this without your help. It is greatly appreciated. You'll see our smiling faces at more of your races.

Any qualified stick shift drivers out there? Good help is hard to find. Hammer; I'd like to sign up a few individuals for your next gear jammin' driving school.
