I've had issues with my BG 280 fuel pump losing prime. I sent it in over the winter in '07 to the tune of $125+ shipping to have it rubuilt---only to have the same issue happen still in '08.

Not to mention---ever try collecting Contingency $ from BG??? I'm STILL waiting............

Making the switch this winter!

What brand is the best to go with on a Super Stock car? I'm looking to switch mine this winter as well.

I my self am going to Aeromotive on my Super Stock car. I've heard good things from the racers who I have talked to that are running Aeromotive products.

I have had the same problems with Grant products
I even bought a new pump and had it do the same thing
I sent the used one back for a rebuild and it came back doing the same thing
So that is a used one a new one and a rebuilt one
When I called the answere was they were having no problems like that and I was the only one who had called
What I found out if I opened the bleed screw and pulled the spring out it would pop and all would be ok for that weekend the next weekend I would have to do the same

The pump is well below the fuel cell in case anyone was wondering.....

Aeromotive stuff works right the 1st time, lasts a long time and they pay contingencies on time. Hats off to Kyle and the rest.

Good idea to support the sponsors who support the sport (Aeromotive).... I've had my "issues" w/ BG stuff too. Thank God for eBay!

I have a Aeromotive pump, filter and Regulator on my bracket car been on there 3+ years with never a problem. All I do is change the filter element before the season starts and never a problem.

I met Jeff Stacy from Aeromotive @ last years PRI. His product knowlege and the quality of they're fuel components convinced our sponsor to use they're product line.

Areomotive suggested to us that we use "micron filters" on all our fuel systems as opposed to paper or element filters. The additives contained in "race fuels" can breakdown the paper filters and the adheisives used to hold them together, thus contaminating your carburator or fuel injection system. Makes sense!

I've got (2) bad BG 400 pumps and a 2-port regulator.
BG wont sell rebuild kits, they want you to send them back to them!
They're stuff seems to self destruct after a few seasons!

I've heard from other racers about having to send remanufactured BG products back a second time!

Mark, buy the Aeromotive stuff, your fuel distribution problems will go away!

I have a pump for EFI (running at 60psi), maybe give them a call and see what they recommend. I believe I talked to Kyle last time. Also running a before/after filter.

I have had tremendous luck withe MagnaFuel stuff. Its quiet, less vibration, more consistent pressure. Its field serviceable, and at a reasonable clost, even the brushes are replaceable without dissassembling the unit

This past week end at arace in georiga we had the one on our super gas car go bad after a first round win but could not make the call for round 2 cause the reg. hung up and filled the motor with fuel and the motor would not turn over bg stuff is junk it is now all areomotive all around even my stocker The people at areomotive were great to talk to and tell me witch stuff i needed for each diff. car that we have.

Magnafuel and Aeromotive BOTH are tied as the best fuel pump companies out there. Have had the magnafuel pump and regulator excuse me pressure control unit (thats what they call it) on my car now 3 years with out a bit of problems. One thing i would do if you get the magnafuel and run 16 volt system is turn the bypass pressure down some.

Check online. I bought a rebuild kit for my BG280 on ebay for 20 bucks. I run a BG return style regulator and i've never had a problem. The pump its constructed like an oversize holley "blue" but its never let me down. I personally like the Mallory 140/250 style pumps and regulators. And the pump itself is a good piece...bearings no bushing.

I thought I would try to add some humor to this. Mail just came a few minutes ago and there was the Oct 3 issue of Natl. Dragster. When you all get yours look at the back cover its a Barry Grant ad and at the top it reads "Throw-Away" or Race today? They must be talking about throwing away their pump so we can go racing. LOL!

all well and good, and he does have a few valid points. However look at it this way, if you have a pump fail at the track (pump side, leak, etc.) would you rather have to carry a $25 rebuild kit, or a whole other pump because you can't take the damn thing apart
