Re: skyview pro-am
I KNOW! I'd get qualifying runs and everything!
I'd have to go through my hometown to get there, so if I go, I could pick dad up on the way there and drop him off on the way home. Always good to have some crew chiefin', even if it does mean I'd have to keep my helmet on all day long. ;) What'd you break? Hope it wasn't anything more than that shifter. |
Re: skyview pro-am
staying home.

Re: skyview pro-am

I hope the improvements were made. Otherwise I think things will be tight if everyone shows. Has anyone been to the track lately?

Was cold and traction was a major issue for the racers. After an hour plus of shutdown to prep the start area, I called it a day after 1 time trial run Nice local racers. Old school track. Bathrooms right behind the burnout area, 3 or 4 stalls, concessions on the far side for food..... If you go, the sign on the road is small, and you have to go up a ski area style road to get in, its a ways up. Wouldn't want to loose brakes on the way down. |

The Worners, Jeff Tripp, Santangelo, are a few that usually hit the IHRA div. 1 events.

Re: skyview pro-am

Re: skyview pro-am
It was my first trip to Skyview, and I really enjoyed myself. Despite the rumor mill leading up to the event, 1) the hill leading up to the track entrance was not a million miles long, and my little 4.7L Dodge towed up it without batting an eyelash. 2) Two new pit roads were paved, and they have a ton of land cleared. There's *plenty* of parking. 3) the traction was impeccable all weekend. The Volare was toting the wheels nice every pass!
Tip o' the cap to Sloan Racing Engines, as I was lucky enough to get my first #1 Qualifier with my car on Saturday! |
Re: skyview pro-am
skyview rolled out the red carpet. the bite was unreal. please have this event again next year. job well done.
|
Re: skyview pro-am
ditto! i would hope that next time, skyview ask for a weekend without anything else going on (any other sanctioning body). they will have a great turnout. they deserve this chance. my 2 cents
