09 Class Rotation Announced
 

I think NHRA made a drastic improvement in the class rotation....it will be announced soon...and it looks like they put in all the classes(except S/ST) at all of the races but 2....look for it on NHRA.com....if I new how to post it I would....

Rock,

Was anything said about Top Sportsman racing in some National's this year?
I have been hearing a lot of them saying it is going to happen next year?

I think the new sched is great. Would like to see 1 more S/ST National in each Division.... but maybe next year.

So they put all the classes back in at all the races but 2 and nobodys happy about it....I thought it was a big move.....I'm not sure how they decided on the places where they pulled a class but still pretty good...I think the Sportsman Advisory Council has made an impact....we asked for this....I was shocked actually....

They will put T/S and T/D in in the near future....so we heard.....but not this year I guess...

5 years ago, SG was missing from E-Town and SC was missing from Reading. It's just our turn again. We get it out of the way, and according to the every 5 year rule, won't be missing SG again until Reading 2012 and Virginia 2013 and SC again until Virginia 2011 and E-Town 2013.

Thanks to the SRAC getting us more potential races every year!

Looks like they are trying to find revenue for 09 and for revenue lost in 08. Either way it benefits all of us who want to attend/race.

Yes Rock, it is a definate improvement, but can you see our point here in Div1? Our rotation hasn't changed, if memory serves me. I'm glad to see that the advisory council is having an effect, but i guess you can't please us all.

I think they dropped the ball with Super Gas......The Englishtown and Gainesville race has no Super Gas... the most heavily entered division in the Gainesville Nats is Division 1 (besides for d2) and they dropped the same class from 2 races that they would be going to.....i know for me that makes 4 races I will not be attending in S/G. Will not run any Florida Races in Gas and will not have the back to back Atco and Etown Race to run in Gas..... Sucks! The rotation is basicially helping every one EXCEPT the Division 1 guys all the races here are still under the **** Rotation.....even the close out of division races are limited....good for others not helping everyone

It is nice to see (or at least think) that the SRAC is having some input on things.

1) Oil Down Rule Revised
2) Class Rotation Revised

How about no S/S @ Z-Max. Are you telling me that this state of the art 4 lane track can't hold all the classes? Not only is there no improvement in Div. 1 But the closest tracks to Div. 1 are still in rotation also (Richmond & Concord). Well at least the people on the left coast are happy!

As a .90 racer iving in Charlotte, NC will be sweet. Living in Indy will be sweet. Living in SoCal will be sweet (minus the traffic, crime, pollution, and ridiculous cost of living).

That said, as a .90 racer living in central OR will suck (along with ID, MT, ND, SD, & WY, but who would want to live in those God forsaken places anyway). Living in NW Texas / SE NM will suck. Living in Minneapolis wouldn't be that great (not to mention you'd freeze your nuts off, for those of you that have them). Living in southern AL & GA, along with FL will suck. And finally, living in ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI, and NY will suck.

If you live up in MA, NH, VT, ME, RI, CT area it has always sucked running D-1 races. It was somewhat nice when Epping, NH had a D-1 race for people up in that area. The racers like us are spoiled having so many tracks near us. Atco is 45 min, Cecil 1 1/2 hrs, E-Town 1 1/2 hrs, Maple Grove 2 Hours. The track closest for them is Leb Valley which we all know how most of us feel about that place.

All in all I am somewhat happy about the National Events having more Classes. We run mostly Divisionals and National Opens along with MASGA so the addition for S/G at the events is not a big deal. But, anyways Thanks Rock for looking out for the sportsman guy. It's good to know that we have a voice and things don't fall on deaf ears. I was shocked that Concord didn't get a D-2 race next year.

Well, we were going to take it easy on Nationals next year anyway and run just the "local" nationals. NHRA helped our racing budget!
Can't run both cars at Etown OR Reading - won't go.
May go to NC and Virginia, but then we have to travel which is what we wanted to cut down on!!
MASGA races will be on our calendar as well as local divisionals!
Maybe we should move to D3 instead of PA !!! Rock is the best!!

We asked for all the classes to be put back in.....and I submitted a mock rotation....they made the final rotation...I'm not sure why they cut the classes that they did...where they did....pit space and scheduling were issues......frankly I'm not sure how crowded the nationals will be next season....with the economy the way it is.....

I think they just like to punish the Division 1 racers....

You guys can move on down here to Charlotte. Might not be cold enough for you and you can forget seeing any snow except on TV. A sled or snow shovel is as useless here as a screen door on a submarine. Plus its closer to Florida/Georgia where the all of my divisional races are. None in the carolinas.
