Hi Jacob (and entire Waibel family :D) it was very nice of you to post that, shows how much you care about pop-pop, I am sure he appreciates it, and, what a nice and thoughtful young man you have become. Of course we will pray for him, and your family, in their time of need. Take care my little racing buddy, Mike (driver of the BackMotor Funny Car)

It saddens me to read your post but I know that you "pop-pop" appreciates your feelings and love you have for him. The racing community unites often for it's brothers and sisters and I will pray for your "pop-pop" , you and your family during this trying time. Take care young man and know that your racing friends will always be there if/when you need them.

Jacob,

I too will be praying for you and your family. You have a great family and it is sad that you have to deal with this. Just know that "Pop-pop" will always be riding with you down the strip and he'll be shining his light on you when you are holding the Iron Man in your hands.

Jacob, At 10 years old and care as you do about your family ( specially pop-pop) know that your pop-pop has as much pride in you that you have in him. As you can tell from all the replys the BIG family of racers are always ready to help out. Stay strong and know that the man upstairs has his hand on you and pop-pop and he will see you through this. God Bless you and stay strong.

Jacob,
There is no better request to answer than this one. You, your parents and Pop-Pop are surrounded in the prayers of all your friends, known and unknown. Your Daddy is right, we are a very BIG family that does everything we can to help each other.
I hope one day to get to meet you, good luck with your racing, and enjoy your Pop-Pop, he sounds like a very special man.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray that your arms of comfort and peace surround Jacob, his parents and his Pop-Pop at this time as they travel a path that is scary and sad. May they feel the love and support from all the people lifting their voices to you in their time of need.
May Pop-Pop find peace and draw the strength he needs by leaning on you, and send your blessings on Jacob.
I pray these things in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

Re: A question from little Waibel

Well my "pop pop" told me today that he wants to just stay at home. I am not sure what that all means, but I do know that it made my mommy cry.

I want to make sure that my pop pop is ok, but mommy told me what everything means and I want to ask you all you still pray for him.

Thank you to all my racing buddies...

Jacob Waibel

Jacob, you're a very noble young man, and my heart goes out to you, your parents, and your pop-pop. My thoughts and prayers come out to you from the western half of our great country. GOD's not just here, he's there with you right now to offer you the comfort and love you need during this challenging moment with your pop pop. Know this Jacob...just as GOD has you in his hands to bring comfort to you, he also has your pop pop in his hands as well...Peace, Love, & Blessings....

p.s. All of the respondents here are just a few of the many angels (some you know), that are lifting you and your pop pop up in prayer....

Re: A question from little Waibel

Just wanted to put an update on here. They took my dad (jacobs pop pop) into the hospital last week. They wanted to place a stint in the duct between the liver and the colon. They were unable to get it placed. They then decided that they were going to try and place and external drain to get some of the bile out of the liver. They got it in, but it did not go where they wanted it. So they have had him in the hospital since last wednesday... today they are trying one last time to get the tube placed where they want it. He is of the mind that he is going home today weather or not they get it there. He will be going home with 24 hour hospice care.. and we will go from there.

As I know more I will let all of you know. Thank you for all of the support that you have shown our family and especially my son Jacob. In addition to all of this, we just buried my grandmother last Monday. She was my adopted mother and Jacob knew her as "Big Grandma" She as well died of cancer...
Please continue to keep us in your prayers...

Ramona, We will continue to pray, and just to let you know, you should be very proud of your son as he has been very strong and big on here with his love and concern for his grand-paw. It's a great feeling to know that there is kids in this world that do still have care, respect and love for their elders. God bless you and your family during these tough times.

Re: A question from little Waibel

Just to give an update... my dad (Jacobs Pop-pop) has been placed on morphine today. We really have no ideas as to what that will mean long term or what our time frame is at this point but please keep us in your prayers. He is home and he will stay there. That is what he wanted.

In addition, please keep Jacob in your prayers as he has fractured his knee well the bone under his kneecap right near his growth plate. He is in a knee immoblizer right now and we go to see and ortho doctor next week.

Thanks so much for all of the prayers this far and I know that we will continue to rely on all of you!!! Thanks again!!!

Jacob, Son PLEASE remember that your pop-pop would want you to be strong. You sound like you have some great memories of the two of you and those are the most important things to hang onto. I know your sad, and that's understandable, you will grieve, cry and be sad, but remember he's in a MUCH better place now and he will always be watching over you in everything you do. Also remember all you have to do is look up and he'll be looking down on you. God Bless and the whole racing family will be praying for you and your family during this sad, sad time.

GOD BLESS,
Ron

Jacob,

I'm especially sad for you because my reply to you and your mom's message was the last one posted prior to yours . Please know that in addition to all that everyone has (and will have) said about this, that you'll always have your pop pop as your "No. 1 Fan", in all that you do. You'll definitely be in my prayers as well, and I hope that your injury will heal quickly, so that once you can go forward from your grieving time, that you can begin your tribute to your pop pop when racing gets started out there where you are...GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU, and your family...I believe too that you "will see him again one day" :)
