That is one cool Stocker! And a stick no less. Did the stripes come as a stencil or was it laid out by hand?

Thank you the car to this day still only has 3,700 original miles its never seen a rain drop lol.

I probably went about it the wrong way I bought a prestine low mile original car and made it a stocker, but I'm weird like that I guess lol.

No, that is absolutely the right way to do it. Very nice car. One question? Are those factory mirrors painted black or do they come that way? They look really cool on the car, and I guess I haven't paid attention to the mirrors on a SS Camaro. I'm thinking they are usually body colored but in black they appear to be an extension of the stripes and it has a good effect. Now if we could just get you to put an Advanced clutch in there....;)

TOSTO RACING 11-29-2008 07:18 PM

Re: Here is a few pics of the car

Jeff the mirrors black is how it came from the factory in 99. As far as that advanced clutch maybe someday. I just want to get it out and see how it does I'm really excited to run stock with you guys. I'm sure one is in my near future though.

Not a dime of compensation or product. I'm strange in that I want to make sure everybody that races has the opportunity to work with somebody that knows the product and will help before and after the sale. I went down the opposite road with clutches and although I did learn a lot (which was probably a good thing), it sure was time consuming, expensive and sometimes frustrating. I also like to publicize my engime builder too. That's MACH Development. If you bought one of his engines and one of Rob's clutches, you would have a chance to beat me in class....oh, ouch LOL! But then again, my car's in some sort of reformatory so all I have is keyboard bench racin' for now.

Very nice car Tim. Great to see ya running Stock Elim in 09. Maybe someday I will turn my 02 LS1 Camaro bracket car into a Stocker.

Is there a reason you don't use the 6 speed?

Re: Here is a few pics of the car

It seems to me a 5 speed would give you much advantage over a 4-speed. Stuart Goertzen just got his motor back together this year and set the D record @ 10.54. Will be exciting to see how D goes next year! Have fun!

I had the stock 6 speed in the car when it was running in the 9's. I got tired of hydrauilics is the main reason it has a manual clutch linkage now. Plus the 6 speed is very heavy and no v-gate shifter for them that I know of yet. As many of you saw I missed a gear with the old h- pattern on T.V. lol.

I even had a g force 5 speed for it and sold it.. I just decided to go with the Jerico, not for any reason just know they hold up very well and we have ran them for years. I also wonder if the 5 speed would have been any advantage.

What a nice car, did you build it? It looks like it has a 9" rear in it, have you changed that back and it is an older picture? Very nice car, good luck this year!

TOSTO RACING 12-03-2008 07:07 PM

Re: Here is a few pics of the car

Thank you. Yes I did build it, it did have a 9 inch in it before ,but in that pic it has the 12 bolt that it has now.

I didn't win the car on pinks. I raced the car on there against my brother and his 68 firebird. The car ran 9.70's then at 141. After the show I decided to totally re do the car and make it a stocker. Thanks for the kind words. If you haven't had a chance to see the show you can find it in this thread.
