Your opinion wanted
Picking up 2009 Challenger on Friday, it needs new wheels to replace factory wheels. The car is dark blue. Any opinions out there on what kind of wheels to use??? Thinking 3 1/2 and 8 inch Welds. My kid says go old school; 4's and 8's Crager SS. Going for the stocker look on the street. This will be my foot brake car (to lazy to fix the one in the garage). Your input would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year! :):) |

Re: Your opinion wanted
The Cragar SS`s would look cool, and so would the Tourque Thrust D`s in the same sizes! Show uswhat it looks like when you put `em on!

Re: Your opinion wanted
While they aren't street legal (but they can make them thicker), I think that these would look "appropriate" on Mopar! ;)

Re: Your opinion wanted
i wonder if there are any issues with putting 15 inch rims on on a car with big brakes they must have at least a 17 or 18 whell now? better check the caliper clearence before ordering wheels.

Re: Your opinion wanted
I agree with Kenny,, the new race series Centerlines have some great looking styles including the 2 shown above. A set of front and rear Split-Spokes arrived over the holidays here for my son's 69 Nova which has the belly button Weld Wheels on it now. I loved the old Cragar S/S wheels and had them on many of my cars back in the 70s,,but I wouldn't put them on a new Challenger, theres too many good looking up to date wheels available nowadays,,, but thats just my 2 cents. Have fun with your new car, and check out that brake caliper clearance to be sure. Danny Durham

Re: Your opinion wanted
what is the bolt pattern on the new mopar?
You can get the torwue thrust look on a wheel from ford racing. I am sure there are other center caps that would fit them. American Racing probably is making them for Ford. |

Re: Your opinion wanted
Dougy boy, did you and Tracey pick it up yet ?
I like the wheels Myron showed. That would be the deal for that ride, if they can make it thick enough for street. That is nice !! I just put the Centerline REV's on mine today. You guys in D2 wont beleive its the same slow azzed car !! Hell, It LOOKS 200 lbs lighter !! Ha ha ha ! |
Re: Your opinion wanted
I like the Crager S/S. If you do a little internet searching in Dodge's 2009 Challenger info list they show a Classic R/T option with the old style R/T stripe and either 18" or 20" Crager wheels. In the catalog they show a B5 Blue with a black stripe and Crager wheels. When I win the lotto I'll be going to my local Dodge dealer and ordering that car.
That's my opinion. Rick Ryan |

I order a white 2009 Challenger 4 months ago with no sunroof, it's not in yet.but for the wheels I would check in to that caliper clearance thing.I couldn't put 15's on a BMW X3 when it came with 17's.

Re: Your opinion wanted
Yes, got that bad boy picked up today. Had it here when momma got home from work and carried her out to dinner. That's just the kind of guy I am!
Stupid big brakes gonna be a problem on the wheels. Does anybody make a 17" front runner wheel? Factory wheels - gotta go. Made 3 passes at my favorite test facility AKA, the road in front of the house.:D Leave at about 2400, no tire spin, I think it will make a good foot brake car. (If Tracey will let me use it on Saturday, she loves the car) |

Yo, Douggie, you gonna go to Brainerd? Looks wet on Sat.

Re: Your opinion wanted
Bill I doubt it. We are going to the funeral home tomorrow night. If you heard about the young firefighter that was killed; I coached him in baseball when the kids were in little league and his parents are dear friends of ours. Sad, sad times indeed.
Maybe next Saturday. |
Re: Your opinion wanted
Doug, I did not hear about the firefighter. Sorry for your loss. Lousy time of year for tragedy, not that any other time is better....
Hope to see you soon. |
