A very sad day for all of us, Janet Lang passes on.
 

I am reporting with grief to hear that Janet died this morning. She was one of those people that we'll all miss because she had made such an impact on so many people across the country, over the years. I am going to miss her dearly as I had a great report' with her and her sons. Hang in there guys, I loved ya MUM !!!

I was very saddened to hear this. Janet always was nice to everyone and a great lady. I always enjoyed talking to her at the races. She will be missed. My condolences to the entire Lang family.

This is very sad news, my condolences to Toby and Jody. Janet loved her boys, loved drag racing and was a kind friend to every class racer in division 6 & 7.

I am very, very saddened to hear this. Janet was a real breath of fresh air. Always gracious, kind and generous. Jody, Toby, and family, you have our most heart-felt sympathy.

Our family was in shock to hear of Janet's sudden death. It is still even hard to comprehend. She may have been small in stature but was HUGE within the community of NHRA sportsman racing. In all of the years we have been racing at the same venue with the Lang's, I can't recall a single instance where Janet didn't pass by on her 3-wheeler without a genuine smile and a friendly wave, or stop to offer her congratulations on a previous win for someone on our team. To be in her early seventies, she was still sharp as a tack. She understood racing at a championship level as evidenced by both of her sons continued success over the years behind the wheels of their race cars. To see Toby and Jody at the races without their mom will be a very hard reality check for all of us. I can't even begin to imagine the grief that Toby, Jody, and those close to the family must be feeling. This sure puts things in perspective. Our thoughts are with you.

I too ,am very sad to hear this news. Janet was a wonderful person and will be missed.

Very sad news indeed, one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and a great supporter of both her boys and the sportsman racer alike, we all should be as lucky as you to have a mom like yours.

like everyone, I'm totally bummed to here the news. Janet was such a fixture at the races. As my 13 year old daughter pointed out, at least she died in the environment she loved...still sucks...

There are moments in life when words fail to convey enough meaning to encompass the enormity of such a sudden loss. This is one of those moments.

In Janet's memory we express our gratitude for her friendship and her presence in our midst. To her family, we offer the most sincere support that we can express in the knowledge that nothing can ease the immediate pain. To one another, we can only stand in awe when we consider the reach of her contributions to daily life that were very personal to us all at the track and the kind of example she set for racers and parents of racers across the country.

I'll bet that Wally Parks is getting an earful this morning! Go get 'em, Janet!

It is indeed a sad day for very many people. She was truly one of the great people I've had the fortune to meet through drag racing. Her passion and understanding of the sport amazing. She will surely be missed around the pits and starting line. God Speed!

Add me to the long list of people who admired Janet, loved seeing her at the races and the wonderful devotion she had for her sons. What a sad day. We were shocked as we read this and our sincere condolences are with Toby, Jody, and the entire Lang family. We normally would see Janet only 2 or 3 times a year but she always made us feel that we were like family. Janet was the type of person who showed us what Sportman Drag Racing was all about and we apprectiate her for that. Though she will be missed, Heaven is a better place today.

Very very sorry to hear this bit of news. It won't be the same without your World Champion Mom at the track.She seemed like a great mom to all of us in Divisions 6 and 7 that met her,even if only casually.
