Cotton Perry Video Clip - SportsNationals 1978

I remember all through the seventies, if Cotton Perry wasn't out running a points race or national event, he would be at our home track. If he was away at a race, he would always call the track on Saturday night and tell us how high he was qualified.

You haven't lived life until you have stood next to Pete's Vette as it launched. Forgot how many times the tach would go around!!! For an eighteen year old punk, It was an exciting time in my life.

Great racers and a great video.

Do you think we could ever get that kind of TV coverage again?

I think it'd sell.

Let's do it....our way!

Just curious, but what were the rules for H/MP in 1978, 10.82 @ 122 mph?

It seems amazing that is as quick as a normal stock eliminator car now.

Chris, First of all ,that car was an inline six cylinder with a production head and 3 carbs.
Don't know the weight break but you get the idea.

Pete may not remember me, but if you think of it maybe you could tell him Ed Wright said "Hi"? Pete is one I enjoyed visiting with and learning from.

All the credit goes to Bill Truby. He has an amazing collection of pictures and has allowed me the pleasure of cropping and Photo Shopping them.
