Good Job Mike McCandless with the Wagon

Mike got down to 4 cars at Farmington in Stock with Zac's old 67 Coronet wagon. This was Mikes first race with the car and he did an admirable job making it to the final 4. A .009 redlight did him in. Great to see the old car back in action.

Re: Good Job Mike McCandless with the Wagon

It was a thrash for us to get there but once we did we had fun. The other thing is Mike hasnt raced since October of 2006 in a race car. He made probably 30 runs last year in a 2006 Durango. He is still a little rookieish when it comes to stock elim racing but he will be fine. Hope to be at Mooresville this weekend but it doesnt look good.

Re: Good Job Mike McCandless with the Wagon

A lot of rust fell off that car on saturday/sunday, from the driver!! To say there was a thrash on that car friday was an understatement. The main thing was I had fun. That is all I care about these days. People are taking racing too serious. I want it to be fun. That wagon is a blast to drive. I'm looking forward to knocking some more rust off and learning the wagon.

I couldn't lose to hillary, I've known her for 20 years! My 13 and 9 year old nephew would never let me live down losing to a girl haha. Although, I think the next set of heads from Tim will be expensive haha. I just got lucky this weekend.

Bocephus is one cool ride, only one thing could make it cooler, when's the hemi going in?

Re: Good Job Mike McCandless with the Wagon

Actually Lee Smith drove one of these in 66 with a Hemi and a 4 speed in Super Stock. Then he went to C/MP in the late 60's. We are thinking for of a J/SA combo with a 383.

Mike or Herb,
How about posting a picture of the Wagon?
Love old MOPAR WAGONS.

Another MOPAR wagon that is pretty cool is in Div.4, a 70 PLYMOUTH 383 owned by John Pelon.
He's only been out once or twice with this new car but it looks great, K/SA.

He calls it "The Two Ton Mater"!

Re: Good Job Mike McCandless with the Wagon

The wagon is going on a diet this weekend since it looks like Mooresville is in trouble. We messed up and didnt realize how much gas was in the car I was putting 5 gallons in while in the shop as it poured out the spout we realized it had 25 gallons in it. We were WAY over K weight to say the least. Herb Sr has a few old school secrets he wants to do. We may have this thing down to J weight if we arent careful. Its only 350 heavy on the rear wheels I know now why wagons dont spin.

That wagon is a former division winning car as well.

Sadly, the name of bocephus might have to come off the side of the car. Not sure what I'll put on the side, but I think the bo has to go. I was thinking of calling it humpty dumpty

Mike,
If you want people to remember that car , leave Bo on it.

I need to add a CD player and speakers. Then I can just play my Hank Williams while going through the pits.

You said it's all about fun... "Circus Wagon!" :p

Thundersaurus. Flying Fortress.

My dad's '67 Sport Fury Convertible isn't lettered anymore, so you can steal his "Blunt Object" name.

I told Herb the other day "Mr. 2-Speed". (Slow and Stop) ;)

I'm sure Myron will pitch in some ideas... Locomotion vs.... Trainwreck?
