2008 Ford Cobra Jet Mustang

This is the limited production car produced by Ford Racing.


The 2008 Mustang Cobra Jet - built to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic 1968 Mustang Cobra Jet pioneered by Tasca Ford, and offered to connect with today's Ford sportsman drag racers even stronger. The FR500CJ is the second purpose-built, turn-key race car engineered, developed, built, and sold through Ford dealers by Ford Racing, only a limited number of FR500CJ drag cars were built. True to the 1968 Cobra Jet, a total of only 50 copies of the car were made, and all 50 were sold within 10 days.

Built with the serious drag racer in mind, along with its striking Cobra Jet graphics, the Cobra Jet features the Supercharged 5.4 Cobra Jet engine, Cobra Jet cold air kit, Cobra Jet throttle body, air conditioning and rear seat delete, crankshaft damper, Cobra Jet bellhousing, 6-speed manual transmission with SFI bellhousing, stainless steel long-tube racing headers, 9" rear axle assembly, one piece driveshaft drive shaft, single hoop drive shaft loop, Cobra Jet rear control arms and anti-roll bar, Ford Racing adjustable dampers, drag race spring kit, and unique Cobra Jet wheels.

Inside are a 5" Cobra Jet IP-mounted pedestal tachometer, a full complement of Ford Racing performance gauges, a short-throw shifter, and Cobra Jet seat package. Completing the package are a safety cage and safety harnesses.

Each will be fitted with a wheel and tire combination suited to drag racing and will weight about 3,300 lbs. The Cobra Jet is NHRA legal to 10.00 second ETs and has an NHRA Stock Eliminator-legal interior.

I believe the car for sale on E-Bay a couple weeks ago was car # 26. Whats the number on this one?
Don't be afraid to post the price,,,,we're all adults here,,,we can handle it. This isn't E-Bay, you know.

There is no big secret. I just prefer that people really interested in the car would contact me through e-mail or PM. It tends to cut down on tire kickers and people hi-jacking a thread. Please if either of you gentlemen are interested feel free to contact me.

As for the "This isn't E-bay" comment, the price is set. It's not a bidding war. If you are interested in the car please feel free to contact me. I have had plenty of folks show interest.

Just an update on the Cobra Jet. We have taken a deposit on the car. If for some reason the deal falls through, I'll repost it.

Kelly,,,Yeah I saw that also. Just wasn't sure if it was # 21 he was trying to unload,,,afterall some people have bought more than one,, look at the guy who purchased the 4 Winternationals cars. Oh well,, they're all playing the game at a much higher level than I ever will. They are deffinately some awesome cars.

there is one in Southern Ontario Area .....that is all i can say but i'm pretty sure it's the only one in Canada but who's to say.?

FYI-I will be taking deposits on the 2010 models. We will not be marking these up like the ones you will find on E-bay. Ford Racing will be making 50 for that model year.

P.S.
The person who purchased #48 from us already has it on E-bay trying to turn a profit. We sold the car for 72k. He has the starting bid for just under 90k.

We sold the car under the assumption he was putting it in his collection. Guess that wasn't the case. The reason we purchased these cars is for the racers to enjoy them. We could have put them on E-bay and tried to make a ton of money, but we wanted them in the hands of the enthusiast.

We sold a total of 15. The first 13 were #19-31 and the last two were #48-49

They didnt go to anyone, they were all purchased for 70k or more. I have seen at least 7 of them on the qualifying sheets.
