C'mon now fella's, be nice cause they buy more 'shiny objects' than any of us and keep the performance industry flowing.
My question is, did they get a TT? Didn't see one on DRC

Don't get me wrong, I was not really throwing off on Super Comp, I have some very good friends who run the .90 Super classes, and I was a part of a Super Gas and Super Comp team for years. I hate to see anyone get dumped on.

NHRA is fast becoming a dog and pony show, and trying to be all things to all people. You cannot be all things to all people. You cannot include every class every person or sanctioning body on the planet can think of. With too many classes, everyone gets screwed, or nearly everyone. Quality over quantity sells better nearly every time, especially when times are tight.

I like the idea of everyone having a time and a place to race, but it simply cannot be the same place and the same time for everyone.

By the way, once again, NHRA has made such an excellent deal with ESPN that the NHRA show gets either cut short or pre-empted and rescheduled for stick and ball sports. No wonder companies do not want to buy space on drag cars, even in the pro classes. Who is watching qualifying at 2AM on Sunday morning?

They don't have to qualify so there is never anything about the throttle stop classes on DRC until eliminations.

Super comp did get a time trial this afternoon. Keep in mind this is a 3 day race and a lot of it got rained out yesterday. Their run was cancelled yesterday morning after it took 3 hours to dry the track, then it got cancelled last night when it started raining again.

Schedule I saw said the qualifying show would be cut short by NCAA hockey. I didn't even know there was such a thing. Is there anything they won't preempt drag racing for?

Alan, I agree totally but we must remember that the NHRA doesn't give a damn for the lower classes.....when was the last time you saw them on TV?

The NHRA concentrates on the "show" classes and could care less if we even show up.

Terry I'm just saying give me the old American Sports Cavocade that use to be on showing a hour in a half of Sportsman racing and I'm watching every second, the pro stuff (except for Pro Stock), WAY to much politic's playing on the TV.
Dont like it, dont watch it.
But thats just me.

It was a mess for S/G and S/C as far as qualifying. One and then go at odd times. I understand they allowed some of the S/C cars to restage and go after stumbling or dying on the line due to cold conditions. I did not see this personally. In class we ran 4 of the 8 in C/SA. Mark Faul and I were the last down. It rained from 330' to the end including trying to get out of the car, get a beer, get the winch working, and drag the large car in (in that order). We did have one emergency when Larry and Patsy Hill and me and my wife were sitting in the trailer and it rained so hard, we could not get to the beer. Phone would not work. We were calling 1011 (intenational emergency beer line)

Alan, I couldn't agree with you more on your last statement, and I called NHRA to talk about my disdain with that as well, and got the following number for ESPN to vent complaints too...I hope all of us will call them and voice our beefs with them for not caring enough about us to give our sport similar programs/air time as nascar...it's (860) 766-2236. You know what they say...there's strength in numbers, so lets all call them!!!
