Observation

If enough guys build the new Mustangs, Challengers and Camaros, NHRA Stock eliminator as we know it today will become part of the history books.

Bruce Noland 03-31-2009 06:15 AM

Re: Observation

We probably won't see any new Camaros. It will take some time to get rid of the older Stockers because most are very committed to the Sport. But they will move on eventually.

nhra's view of the older Stock and Super Stock cars is now very clear. http://www.aljon.com/files/ImpactVbrochure.pdf

Re: Observation

Bruce -- Ford Highboys were once the kings of our sport but they moved on -- its going to happen -- but not while we're involved......the next generation ? Maybe......

Re: Observation

Jack,
You have been working your nhra crystal ball overtime this year. Can you be more specific?

Billy Nees 03-31-2009 07:49 AM

Re: Observation

Bruce, it's not a crystal ball, it's a drug induced haze. (Wow, look at all of the pretty colors)

Re: Observation

Bruce,

I heard NHRA is considering Al-Jon for corporate sponsorship, possibly even contingencies. He He.

Couldn't resist.

Thats why we should "try to sell" sell this game to some other organisations before that happens..and NHRA could continue with there "political acts" around new cars..we are still a pretty big and strong group..maybe NHRA could improve Stock even more then by adopt a max 10 year old rule ..same as PS!

Re: Observation

Guys,

They could use one of these in each division and make a few extra bucks. Seriously, something has to give with this outfit. This latest round of Crapola is off the charts!

It's de-ja vu all over again! Of course that is where they are going with this thing. They don't have enough new cars on the track to do it yet. This latest round of crapola is just the beginning.

ahhh, but would it be the same thing?
i find it hard to (in my case) call a 67 american with a 290 a "muscle car"
a 343 , yes, but not a "small" motor.
that's what made muscle cars muscle cars...

If you guys hate this **** so much sell you stuff and quit racing. I have never seen people bitch so much about something they are suppose to enjoy. My brother and I take a different approach, we have fun. We have a crate motor wagon now that will be a NHRA stocker for the start of 2010. I dont give a crap what the new mustangs, challengers or camaros are factored. I dont care if they tell me i cant be over weight by 200 lbs. I dont care how fast a U SA car is, and could care less if the mustang has a supercharger. My dad told me when he started there were 6 classes and they spotted a car length per class, I guess some guys want to go back to that. My point is how can anyone spend their hard earned money on something that pisses them off so much. Its not just this post but over 50% of the post the past week. The site owners love it because all the bitching gets people back and then the views go up so they can sell to more advertisers. Its win win.

Have a nice day.

Herb jr...thats a good approach...but maybe you have to look on it from some other racers wiew too..Why spending so much money on something you hate so much?? You dont care about the "new cars" favorable greetings one way or the other,or manipulating the system..Well..the majority of the money is allready spent for the most part..and cars start getting uncompetitve by men behind a desk and a factoringsystem that just gets everything more and more "out there"..nothing else..... if guys are not affected by most of this and maybe are more interrested of the "bracket eliminator" part of this it may be easier to take the same approach as you have...Sell the stuff?? thats maybe easy to say..give it away is maybe more accurate..

And how is that different from years gone bye? Where is it written that 1969 Camaros own Stock Eliminator?

If you look at post by the poster you see alot of the same people bitching about stuff. Then you take their name go to dragracecentral.com and search and they might show up 3x in 5 years on a qualifing sheet. They arent racing anyway so why should they have a real bitch here. My brother and I havent raced much for operating a drag strip for 18 months and now that is over so we are back racing, having fun and oh yea when I do swap it over to an NHRA style stocker I probably will get my *** kicked on a heads up. If I do I just do.

Re: Observation

Herb, im with you...who cares about heads up...you gotta look at the percentage of actual heads up runs...other than class...they are pretty much slim to none..the biggest one this year was when Fletch had i think 4 in A/SA at a natl....this complaining will never end....we all just need to come to reality and realize this is never gonna change you accept it and race cause you love racing if you hate whatever HRA and they way they run things then go combo racing or bracket racing...this is the future of the sport and personally if it saves the HRA's from going under and gives me a place to race for many many years lets do whatever it takes.....

The same could be said for you posting on this site. You should not read and participate in these threads if they make you so angry. You're not going to stop people from expressing their views!

I sold my race stuff years ago due to my job and several relocations. I now race my street car and soon a new Challenger. Just as much FUN and easier on the nerves. I still attend national events as a pit bitch. All in what you want. Go Herb jr;).

Many of us believe that IHRA has it right when it comes to these new cars and nhra does not.

Speaking of running in nhra classes - do you have an nhra car? How long has it been since you ran at an nhra race? And what class do you plan on running when you do return to nhra???

The owner of this site is not invested in controversial threads. He has the class to let them run even though he may or may not agree with the subject matter being discussed. So you should leave him out of this.

And finally, we live in a free society. We will "bitch" or dicuss anything we please. I hope you understand.

My car won't be finished until the end of May. So I'll miss the National, but I certainly will race it at MIR and the Rock Fall Race; if I still have the car.

Thanks
