Re: Front Tires

Try the old moroso's. The drag specials I think. They last longer than anything I've tried plus I've never had a flat with one.

I'll second this. Look at my photos, the old Moroso's on our Nova in that picture are 22 years old and still hold air. NO, when the car is finished I'm not going to run them , LOL!!! When I purchase new tires, I'll probably buy Moroso's again.

I haven't had a problem with my 28" Hoosiers after a few months in the off season. Over the years some may have lost a few pounds but there is the valve stem to consider too.

Whatever brand you buy make sure you coat the inside of the tire with Dawn dish soap. It keeps your tires from leaking down.

Have been using the Moroso Drag Specials for 20+ yrs (even some light street use). They were never a problem, but I am going to try the Hoosiers this year. I will let everyone know if I made a bad decision......
I like living on the edge.......LOL

I have a set of 2yr old Moroso DS2's and one of them has a porous sidewall. Will the dishwashing liquid cure that?

Re: Front Tires

Never had any issues with front tires. Maybe I am lucky. I had old Moroso's on Weld prostars for years, Then DS-2s on Monocoques for several years. I went to the new Mickey Thompsons a couple of years ago and they also have been good. This also was on Monocoques and now with new Mickey Thompson rims. I always use new metal valve stems. No problems so far with any of these.

Re: Front Tires

I'm using nitrogen in the moroso drag specials. It is less prone to losing air pressure because of the larger molecular structure of nitrogen. The pressures are more consistant.

TOYO claims they have the truest "in round" tire available. Also, I believe, the most expensive.
