S/G Roadsters allowed?
|
Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd
Sorry, no roadsters allowed.....we are adhering to NHRA Super Street rules with the exception of the weight. Just trying to get some Super Gas door cars to come and join us and give some of our regular faster door cars an opportunity to run this race.
If you get a chance to listen in we will be on the Buckeye Speed Zone show tonight at 7:45 pm. This is a two hour show that starts at 6:00 pm and covers all kinds of racing throughout Ohio and across the United States. The stations that carry the show are Eagle 99, 92.1 The Wolf, Eagle 93.7 (Mt. Vernon), 13WMVO, Mix 102.7, 1600 WTTF, 100.9 Coast Country and WLEC 1450 AM. Jim, thanks for the call, and good luck with the race. I think you'll have a good turn out.
I would have posted this on Pacemakers forum, but Malaby has me on lock down, and won't allow me to sign in. |

Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd
Did they change S/ST rules? (Tom reads the rules & he just tells me what I need to do)
They used to let roadsters run as long as they were left-hand steer and made weight. |
Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd
To all you Midwest Super Street Racers:
Jegs has agreed to become the official sponsor of our "Racing For Cancer" Super Street Race next Saturday at Pacemaker's Dragway Park in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Their team along with a long list of local vendors have teamed up to donate over $2000.00 worth of prizes for us to raffle off throughout the event and we are not done yet!! We have gift certificates, limo rides, hotel vouchers, detail jobs and the list goes on and on!! We will also be having a 50/50 drawing to help raise money for this worthy cause. Again, $30.00 entry for the Super Street Race, $1000.00 to the winner, $500.00 to the runner-up and $125.00 to the semi's, all guaranteed!! Low qualifier gets their entry back and first round bye if odd number of cars!! All of the proceeds from the SS race, door prize drawing and 50/50 will be donated to the James Cancer Hospital at the Ohio State University. There will also be a box/no box race for $40.00 entry and $800.00 guaranteed to the winner. Please check out the PDP website at www.pacemakersdragwaypark.com or visit my site at www.racingforcancer.com for more details!! Good luck to all of you at Norwalk this weekend, be safe and I hope to see you all in Mt.Vernon next Saturday!! |
Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd
Jim:
Do you have when time trials and eliminations will be starting? Being the car will finally be on the track somewhere, we have haven't decided between running Super 32/Super Pro both days at Trails or 1 day at Pacemakers and 1 day at Trails. Should be fun either way. Thanks - Ruthie Bailey |
Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd
Ruthie:
Would love to have you, Rick and the Mustang at the track with us on Friday and Saturday. We are having test-n-tune on Friday night with the pro tree for the Super Street racers. Gates open at 4:00, time trials at 5:00 and probably a Super Street Gambler's race at 8:00. On Saturday, the Mid-Ohio Ford Club will kick the day off at 9:00 am and run until approximately 1:00 pm. We will then start the time trials for the Super Street and Box/No Box races right after that with eliminations set to start around 5:00 to 6:00 depending on car count. We are going to have a little break between time trials and the first round of eliminations to do a couple of special things and then we will rock n' roll. We have over $2000 worth of door prizes to draw for and we will also have a 50/50 drawing. Jegs has stepped up to match us dollar for dollar for all of the money we raise, so now is the time to get the job done!! They also chipped in $500 worth of gift certificates and everyone who races needs some of those!! I understand that Rex, Dewey and some of the boys from the Wymer stable are going to join us, so you might as well add to the party!! Please join us and make this a special night!! If you need anymore info, call me at 740-392-5232!! See ya!! |
Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd
Thanks Jim for the information. At this point, I don't care where we go. I just want to get out of the house and be with our friends. It has been a rough year for both us and some loud noise might do us some good. We definitely will be going somewhere.
Thanks again. Ruthie B. |

Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd

Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd
I hear it was Dewey Boggs and Bebout in the final, That's the second runner up finish in the past two weekends for Dewey. Third time's the charm, can't wait to see what Chicago has in store.

Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd
I just want to thank everyone that was involved in putting this race on. We did have 38 cars tee it up for the first round of Super Street and the whole event was very successful. For those of you who didn't or couldn't make it, the young man that we had there as our guest of honor (Joey Friend) made the whole day worth it even if we wouldn't have made a penny. To see the look on his face when he got a chance to go down the track in a race car and the support from all of the racers means more than I can put into words. I guess the best thing to do is ask some of the racers that were there and plan on joining us on the 10th of October.
Congrats to Linn Bebout on his win over Dewey Boggs in the final and to John Danhauer reaching the semi's. These guys walked away with a total of $1750.00, so it was a good pay day for them. We had some pretty good players (three ranked Division 3 hitters and a couple of ranked IHRA racers) and I want to thank all of the Super Street Racers for making the trek to Mt. Vernon for this very special day. Been kicking around some new ideas for the October 10th race in hopes that it can be as equally successful, but will post that when we get something cast in stone. I have checked all of the surrounding schedules and it doesn't appear that there are any conflicts other than the national event in Richmond, Viriginia. I want to give special thanks to Mike Fouts and the whole Pacemaker's team for running such a great event and to Jeg Coughlin and the Jeg's team for stepping up and supporting us with matched dollar for dollar. Please log onto www.pacemakersdragway.com to see all of the pictures that have been posted. As soon as I know the final total on what we raised I will post it on here. Thanks again to everyone!! Safe racing!! |
Re: Super Street Race - May 23rd
I would to thank Jim Butcher and all the Pacemakers staff and everyone else involved in the S/St Racing For Cancer race. It was one of the best run race that we have ever been to and for such a great cause. There were 38 cars and I hope to see more S/ST racer there on Oct 10. We want to wish the best to Joey Friend, the guest of honor, in his fight against this horrible disease.
Thank you, Linn Bebout |
