I noticed you had an inerest in Larry Griffith's drag pak and thought you might want to take a look at the finished product. It was it's first time out since the build and was at the Mopar Happening in Belvidere IL. It was pretty cloudy that day but I got a few good ones. I'm setting up a real photo shoot and will tell you when I get it done.

A race isn't scheduled just yet but an announcement should be soon. I was out at Larry's Friday and took some more pics and hoping to do more soon. If I get a date I'll let you know.

Hey, make sure Larry knows he can join us in a Heartland stock superstock combo on the Sunday of the World Series at Cordova. It would be a great way to knock the stickers of the new slicks! He is only minutes away from the track! Jim

Don't know if Larry is going or not yet but I am. Maybe I'll see you there James. Look for My 1956 GMC pickup original green two tone. That's my work truck. I keep buggin Larry about going. I also want to get a picture of Benny the Bomb!

World series of Drag Racing!
Don Garlits will be the Grand Marshall at the 56th World Series of Drag Racing at Cordova Dragway Park 08/28-29 and I'm hoping you will see pics of the#1 and #2 Challenger Drag Paks owned by Don Garlits and Larry Griffith. There might even be a run or two in the making. I'll find out more at the press conference Thursday. Stay tuned race fans. This might be a historic event! I sure wish I was allowed to post a link to the pics I'll be taking.

I can't believe this guy Benny, is still around. We had him at Connecticut Dragway back in the early 80's.
He used to crawl inside a wooden box and blow that up. I see now, he's moved up to old cars:

irvin johns debuted his dragpak challenger at BG points meet this weekend... looks cool old school paint like ramchargers candystipe top and HOOSIER HEMI leetered on side...

fast too 9.99 breakout round two after beating larry hill heads up round one...
AND almost all chrysler stuff !!... buy the kit and assemble it :)

I was there Sunday for the Heartland Stock Superstock Race. I heard that no one was injured on the Saturday Pro Race.

Jeff Stealy and I tried to cajole him into joining us for the combo. I better not repeat what Jeff said :)

I spoke with Don Garlits. He did say that he probably should be running with us Sunday to test, but he felt that his headers were not good and he was having technical problems with the Computer. He wasn't too happy about it. I bet he is somewhere having it serviced to allow for a better showing at Indy. He was driving his own rig. It wasn't a big stacker deal either. Just a nice dually and trailer.

No sign of Larry's car on the track ever. Hopefully, he can christen it this year.

Mark -- I first saw Benny at Englishtown in the early 70's when he performed at the "Crazy Eddie " Night of Thrills deal-- and he was nuts then already .................

The rev limiter is an issue in both Don Garlits and Larry Griffiths' Drag Pak. Saw Don's run at Cordova World Series on Friday and Saturday and I was a little bummed. 10.36 was the best time and it was the first pass. All the passes (4) total all went mid tens. Saw Larry's at the Dyno and when the limiter kicks in it dies hard.
The more they played with laptop on Don's car it slowed but Larry's got 30 more hp and still working bugs out. Larry won't race till its right. We will see what Don's does at Indy.

I love the DrakPak challys, even tried to buy one, but I'm thinking they're gonna go the way of the '67 Package Cars ---raceable, but not real winners...........:(
