There was a black SS behind me yesterday. It was the first SS I've seen on the road. Very sweet looking piece. Have fun with yours!

Clay,
The Chevrolet dealership in Taylorsville has a SS on the lot right out front, it is about the same color as your Firehawk. You need to go check it out, I did at lunch today... Its coool.

Is anyone campaigning one of these '010 cars, either V6 or V8, NHRA, or other venue at present, and what classes are they running/or WILL be running in? Much thanks.... WJ

Last weekend I saw an Inferno Orange SS with black stripes. It had the 2SS package with console gauges. Wow, it sure stood out in the crowd!

Looking at the latest NHRA logic, these LS3's should be rated right around 350 hp, fit right into G/SA

Did you have to pay over sticker?

Re: 2010 Camaro / 425 HP

Mike Keener with an automatic instead of a stick????!!!!! Say it isn't so Mike! Still love those Checkmate cars. Actually a friend of mine picked up a V6/ manual car and brought it by so I could grab a few gears for him. Second was pretty easy,, Third was decent, but I wish they had a solid axle under them instead of the IRS,,,which felt a little strange to me.
Take care Mike,,,enjoy the ride! Danny Durham

Re: 2010 Camaro / 425 HP

Jeff,

Nope..Got the car in MI for Supplier discount which was approx. 1400.00 below sticker. This was a great deal. In CA they are 5-10K over for sure!

Danny,

LOL...I already caught hell from Terry Bell about the auto, but to tell you the truth I didn't have a choice. It was either take the car that was available.. or wait. Who knows maybe I should order a White 6 speed and then paint the rockers, tail panel, and hood blue, then sell the red one?

Hmmm..now that's an idea.

Dealership in Fairborn Ohio has a red V6, a Dark red metallic 400 hp auto and a Orange 425stick. They are getting over list. It is posted as $5000 over on the door. Had another red, orange and black already sold... THEY ARE NICE. especially the Black ones....Needs Lime Green stripes though.

I just had a friend come by the house with his new white Challenger R/T. The sticker was $42 grand and he paid $34 grand. I saw the paper work. What is the deal? It had all the bells and whistles. Jim

They are not THAT nice ! Why would anyone pay over sticker on a car that the company has filed chapter 11 ?

Friday night at a test and tune there was a yellow 6 cylinder that a women was running having fun with it. It went 14.70's I think. Don't know what the air was at.....but she was having fun with it for sure. Later in the night we lined her up against my buddies yellow COPO RS 69. Was kind of neat seeing them side by side on the line.......Until the light turned green. Kind of felt bad for the 09 after that. :) Eric

Because some people can I guess. I have a friend that just payed 15K over to get a ZR-1. I know I am not one that can pay over but some people's income to debt ratio's are just better than ours I guess. And knowing my patients if I could I probably would. :)

Sounds like a hefty mark up. SRT's sticker for 42k. 34k is about right for an R/T sticker. And I'm torn between the white and the B5 blue Heritage edition, both R/T's. I did see this though:

Re: 2010 Camaro / 425 HP

[LS3] 426/408 HPft tq [L99] 400/395 cam is different less duration /less lift
[ L99] has cam phaser gives more piston to valve clearance when
cam phasing changes.pistons piston are different w/ valve reliefs
machined

[LS3] 10.7 compression [L99]10.4

[LS3] 420 / 553 @ 4600 [L99] 410 / 535 @ 4300

[LS3] 6600 RPM [L99] 6200

[LS3] 7.6 Qts oil [L99] 8.9

L99 PCV system is different having its oil separators in the valve covers rather than down in the valley like LS3

The local Chevy dealer is at invoice on the Camaros. If they try to get one from another dealer, they will be over invoice.

They sold their V6. Another, an SS 426 horse stick, is due in. Much nicer looking in real life then in pictures!

I got my silver with black strips SS LS3 6 speed car a couple of weeks ago! I worried GM was going to go tilt or cancel the line before I got it. This is a very cool car.....take the traction control off and burn rubber until you shift into 3rd! I've driven lots of factory hot rods, but this car has it all, steering, brakes, luxury, and power..... my opinion is this is the ultimate muscle car!
