Re: NHRA Stock World Champ Predictions
Obviously being in Division 5, I'd like to see one of the Burton's win. I've never met them, but have only heard great things about them.
If not the Burton's, then I would hope Edmond Richardson would win. We just bought a car that he built 2 years ago and I wanted to talk with him @ Cordova. I expected him to be short with me simply because I'm basically a nobody. But i was wrong. Mr. Richardson spent at least 15 minutes talking to me (in the staging lanes) about the car we bought and was very helpful and offered advice. What a gentleman. Brad |
Re: NHRA Stock World Champ Predictions
I'd like to see that big 1 stay in Div.1.I think Anthony won't let it slip away this year.

Re: NHRA Stock World Champ Predictions
Edmond didn't help himself out today in stock, but also making a run for Super Comp. He still is the favorite in stock.

Re: NHRA Stock World Champ Predictions
Anthony picked up 10 points and is at 586 now with 2 races to improve on a 50 and a 72.Edmond lost early so he is still at 632 and can improve a 61 at a national and a 50 and a 94 at 2 divisionals. He's looking good but not locked in.This championship race blows away anything the pro's can come up with.

Hey Ed's last time I looked I was 12th in National points. Not sure I saw your names in the top 50! I understand, lots of internet time I'm sure lots of testing on your beaters, possibly some Obama rallies, its ok! I didn't understand your rambling about tech, teardowns, seeing eye dogs and pigions! PLEASE put together some clear thoughts.

Don't know what Ed was referring to can only speak for myself. And besides I'm on Social Security. When you get to my age they'll probably have to lead you to your car and explain to you why you're there. As Ed would say Have a nice day. |

Can't wait for Silver Dollar! I'm friends with both Edmond and Anthony, but it would be nice to see Ant pull it out this year after just missing last year. BTW, awesome motor, Bub!

Re: NHRA Stock World Champ Predictions
My vote goes to Tim Mosbek, in Stock. He's currently sitting 27th with 428 points, but he has 2 national events he can improve on 1st and 2nd rd losses at, plus 3 divisional races left to claim (although time may have run out for him on all three...perhaps he could go to Silver Dollar next weekend, followed by Noble, Ok's Div 4 race, and then wind up his season after hitting the 'Vegas national event by running the final Div 7 race also there, and then off to Pomona...then he could do it!?), with three 3rd rd finishes to improve on! Of all the racers ahead of him, Tim seems to have the most opportunities to erase his 225 point deficit to Anthony & Edmond, and even pass them both...I just wonder if he can make those remaining races to give him the chance...I wish I was in his position, because there's a lot of racers he can pass with some good finishes in those remaining races for him...GO TIM!!!
I'd have liked to see my bud Steve Wann get it, but he used up all of his races, and although Jody has a good chance to pass Anthony, in order to keep Edmond from re-passing him Jody would need to win 'Vegas, and Edmond would have to stumble in those last two divisionals he has (I wouldn't bet money on that happening), but no matter how good either of them do, Tim can still catch/pass both of them, if he runs all of the remaining 5 races he can use to improve his position? Now as for Super Stock, I'm rooting for either Jimmy DeFrank, Jody Lang or Gary Emmons...however, watch out for Joseph Santangelo II. While Jimmy & Joseph have 3 races they can improve on, Gary has 4...although Gary has 1 more race to claim vs 3 for Jimmy, he also has 63pts to make up to catch Jimmy, so this is a toss-up between those two, with Joseph being the possible fly in the ointment for both??? As for Jody, he has a 3rd ru to improve on, and would need some help to keep him ahead of Jimmy, Gary, or possibly Joseph? Jody pal, I hope you can pull it off in Super Stock, but you're going to need some help??? This is more fun to watch than football pools, and I won two wknd's ago with a 14-2 record!!! It's also more interesting than the pros to watch as well...I think, and good luck to all concerned!!! |
Re: NHRA Stock World Champ Predictions
Looks like Richardson has a guaranteed 10 pts. so far.He has a 2nd rd. bye.He needs 3 more rounds of points to clinch.
|
Re: NHRA Stock World Champ Predictions
I'm not a statistician, but I figure Edmond will take over the points lead with a win in his next round (3rd).He is working off of a 40 point race. This is definately a battle.A few years ago,you only got the bonus points in your home division, but that has now changed.
