Car falls down as it leaves line
Car leaves the line hard and falls down and picks up and runs after that any ideas to look at I have tried about all I can think of 60 ft time are about 2tenth off from last year any ideas thanks Rich

torque converter! usually iif the 60ft times slow down the converter is usually going bad...i just went through the same thing..i sent mine to tci last tues and got it back today 250.00 to rebuild it..

I just had a fuel regulater do the same thing. Check the flow at the carb

We had a problem with Larry's car check where your fuel line runs we had to put regulator in front of carb it solved problem

I had a VERY similar problem a few years back. LONG story short, it was the battery. My battery was mounted lengthwise in the car at the front and apparently it had a cracked plate or two. When I would launch the plates would touch and ground out I suppose and the engine would flat die but then it would recover and run fine the rest of the run. Hope this helps.

Make sure you have the gasket between the top and the body taped where the secondary metering rods go through it. Gas can come through there and cause a stumble.

I'd go with Greg's answer. He had the same problem with the Buick. Time for new tape!
