Do you have any relays in your ignition system anywhere? Relay could be flickering on and off when the car leaves hard. Float level to high maybe and spilling into carb? Band ground somewhere. Lots of possibilities......

Secondary air valve opening to quick ??? Check the adjustment on the spring that controls the rate of opening.....Just a guess since it has a Q-Jet.

I had a VERY similar problem a few years back. LONG story short, it was the battery. My battery was mounted lengthwise in the car at the front and apparently it had a cracked plate or two. When I would launch the plates would touch and ground out I suppose and the engine would flat die but then it would recover and run fine the rest of the run. Hope this helps.

Make sure you have the gasket between the top and the body taped where the secondary metering rods go through it. Gas can come through there and cause a stumble.

I'd go with Greg's answer. He had the same problem with the Buick. Time for new tape!
