Well, we should be on the road in a bit. We had to wait for a UPS delivery this morning with potty parts. As we were coming home from Columbus last weekend, the potty started messing up. So on Monday we ordered parts for the electric potty from NRC. (By the way, if something goes wrong again, we will just get a regular potty. They work better anyway.) NRC did not ship the parts until Tues., so we just got them this morning. So Larry is putting it all back together and we should be on the road shortly. We are only 3 hours away, so I will post more when we get there.

Sorry I have taken so long to get back with you. Larry got the toilet fixed and we got here a little before 5. We got parked and teched and then started drinking and socializing, so I didn't get back to the computer. Then after we ate supper it was time for Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice and then bedtime.

So anyway, it rained during the night, but it is a beautiful day today. Bright blue skies, it is supposed to be in the 70's. We start running at 9:30 this morning.

Larry really thought the mustangs would be here, but there is not 1 in sight. Of course, we do have a couple of Challengers to contend with.

Speaking of "plumber's cracks", I don't think it is fair that as men get older, their butts shrink, but as women age the opposite happens! Oh well!!

Well we just made our 1st run and it looked like Indy all over again. When you see the times posted on DRC, half of them will be 1000' times. Lots of people on the brakes. Lots of red lights in this time trial, also. We went 10.27 in A/SA this morning which was good for us, but Duell went 10.03. They were showing Jeremy Duncan in Irvin Johns car in B/SA. I don't know if that is correct or not. Brenda Grubbs went 1.23 under. She may be #1 qualifier.

Most everyone slowed down about .03 on the second run. Jeremy Duncan and Robbie Shaw went down side by side that run with 9 second runs for both. Really looked good!

Everything is running right along this morning. Super stock is running now and they have called up super comp, so we will be going down again soon.

Well, I have just been lazy today. I took a few pictures so I will post them shortly. I tried to get on this afternoon and for some reason I couldn't. Nothing much has been going on. We have been eating peanuts with Jim and Pam Marshall, Gale Pinkston, Danny Byrd and our first round opponent Scott Helms. And with Sadie (Mike and Corky Welfel's) dog. She has been eating peanuts and drinking beer.

We race at 9 in the morning. We run 2 rounds in the morning and then Round 3 on Sunday.

Well, way too much excitement this morning. When they called us to the lanes, they said,"Oh you might want to check the ladder as it has changed this morning". So I went down to the trailer where they had it posted and it was still like it was yesterday. So I get back to the trailer and Larry said to go to staging because they had thrown McClanahan out. So I go to staging and sure enough, we had a heads up with Bobby Brannon. So Larry does what he can to get it quicker, then red-lights and oh, Bobby broke a rocker arm when he left.

So now I am ready to load up and go home and mow the yard.

I heard they tossed McClanahan for having the wrong hood on the car.

More later if I hear anything happening.

Well we are on our way home now. We watched the 2nd round, then packed up and headed home. Larry is trying to decide if he wants to go on to Louisville this evening to Ohio Valley and the National Open. I told him to just drop me off at home. I think I can be more productive mowing the yard.

Well good luck to our good friend and neighbor Jerry Bennett. He's hot--.006 light in the first round and .008 light in the second. He also won the points race there at Memphis last spring.

Was there any teardowns in Stock or S/S @ Memphis ? How did the car get teched
with the wrong hood in the first place ?..........

It not the wrong for the car, the car is a natural "C" car with the flat hood hood. This means it cannot run "A"

Kyle Fickler ran Topeka points meet and Indy with flat hood on his clone 08 Mustang cobra jet, They told him at the next race he had to change the hood. They made him take the Shelby sticker`s off in tech, Tom

Dave, there was not any teardown of stock or superstock at memphis.

Evidently someone noticed the flat hood and that it would not fit in A/SA and alerted a tech official. On the thread on here from Floyd Russo, Jr. "Is it a west coast thing?", someone had taken a picture of the hood that he has posted on that thread. That was put on there on Friday. I just wished they had posted the new ladder on Friday also. Oh well.

Looks like there will not be much racing today if the radar is right. It rained all night here in Arkansas and it was heading that way. Looks like a Monday finish to me.

As far as teardowns at Memphis, they did inspect and pump all of the Modified cars after Q-3, including mine. Everyone passed.

As the rain continues to fall I guess we will race on Monday. Glad I got NFL Sunday ticket in the motorhome, its going to be a long day.
