entry fee vs. payout
can any one explaine how at Div. or Nat. races we all pay one fee, but there are different payouts
$160.00 for $800.00 to win in sst, stock $160.00 for $1000.00 to win in s/g , s/stock $160.00 for $1500.00 in comp and they might have 15 cars can any one explaine that to me... just a thought... Yes kevin i can think and talk at the same time hhahahaha.. |
Re: entry fee vs. payout
Because they can.
Face it if we were in this to make money the loony bin buses would be lined up outside the gate. Also a lot of the current day racers are well enough situated on the money side to complain bit yet continue to pay at the gate. Those with a lot of money could really care less. Now the budget guys, their the one's getting it in the shorts.I'm in the last category. My retiremement job went away and racing wise I'm hurting. Add to the poor payouts pit bike fees,I'd like to know why we have to pay it in the first place because I see no benefit except the track owners making money for no service rendered, and the usual overinflated costs, tolls, racing fuel etc. and the little guy is slowly being shut out. I rest my case. |
Re: entry fee vs. payout
Dan, where did you get these figures for the race winner payout? I believe it is correct, but I haven't seen it anywhere on the internet or in print for several years. I don't think it has increased any since the entry fee was $125 for the divisional races. Also the entry fees have not been consistant this year throughout the series because I paid $170 at Bradenton, $160 at Gainesville, Orlando and SGMP. Then a few weeks ago I paid $150 at Commerce. Honestly I did.
This should really send you over the top Dan, so you better brace yourself for this next bit of information. Entry fee for TAD and TAFC is a call to the division office to let them know you are coming, and I am pretty sure they race for $3500 to win and get the up front, paved pit spaces too. Oh, and one more thing....... Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. :D RIP Mark Graham |

only when it's flung at me first. NHRA and the tracks are starting to resemble big govt. with the rules and "taxes" we're getting hit with. |
Re: entry fee vs. payout

Re: entry fee vs. payout
Ed, I agree with you 100% on that comparision of NHRA and big government. Dan (a.k.a. Huey) is the organizer and leader of a little S/ST-H/R association we are trying to get going down here in Div.2. One of the main thoughts in wanting to get this type of series going is many of us believe the day will come when we are just a memory among the suits in the Ivory towers of Glendora, so we want to have venue to keep doing what we all enjoy doing.

Re: entry fee vs. payout
No Ed, we do allow the computer game toys and all that comes along with it. Basicly, if someone has a car thats falls within the rules of NHRA S/ST and/or IHRA H/R they are welcome and encouraged to come race with us. The only exception to the NHRA and IHRA rules is we do not enforce a minimum weight. By not having the minimum weight rule we have attracted some S/G racers to come race with us also. We do have some racers running with us that choose not to use the electronic gadgets, and they have proved to us at times that they are not necessary to winning races . The one exception that hasn't been allowed so far is the use of nitrous, which is not allowed according to the current rules of either _HRA.
We have tried to pattern our series after the very sucessful Southern Stock/Super Stock Association which is headed up by Jim Woods and Jim Wahl. Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. :D RIP Mark Graham |
Re: entry fee vs. payout
Actually it's for all 10.90 1/4 mile and 7.00 1/8 mile in racers, with or without electronics, foot brakers included, and no weight minimum, so super gassers can put a bunch in their throttle stops and race with us too.
The Southeastern 10.90 Outlaw Association welcomes almost every one. (no illegal devices and no nitrous, left hand drive only) Dan has a strange way of getting interest stirred up (but he means well). Remember it's difficult to tell what's sarcasm, joking, or mean spiritedness on the internet. Just my 2 cents: Those pay outs aren't fair. The entry fee should be directly related to pay outs. It is exactly like big government.... the little guy pays for every one and gets shafted. Time to change that. |
Re: entry fee vs. payout
Ah Jeez, that means I can't race my 6 cylinder nitrous juiced right hand drive postal jeep.Where does a guy who draws outside the box race nowadays?
Seriously, good luck with the new org. |

Maybe you could get some Obama stimulus money for this project since it would use surplus govt. vehicles. On second thought maybe not because you're burning fossil fuels and leaving a carbon footprint. I still think it's a great idea. You could index them into 3 classes..... 1. 1/4 load of mail 2. 1/2 load of mail 3. Full load of mail (the winner is the guy that can haul the mail) Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. :D RIP Mark Graham |

Re: entry fee vs. payout
Ed, in the spirit of 2 things I know are close to your heart (NHRA and Big Government :)), the mail truck racing association should not DQ a racer for dumping the mail out onto the track. The alternative would be to place a fine on the racer for the violation. Maybe $250 for the first offense, $500 for the 2nd and so on. There could be no limit to where this could stop. As long as the racer appears to be in reasonable health and his equipment appears to be in good shape thus ensuring he will return for the next event to generate more revenue for the powers that be, he should not be DQed in my opinion.
Now if the racer has equipment that makes one question if he would make it to the next race or not, he should not only be fined for the violation, but have his mail truck taken out back and crushed. If the racer appears to be of questionable state of health, especially due to advanced age....well, you can fill in the rest of the story. Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. :D RIP Mark Graham |

Re: entry fee vs. payout
Mr. Moore
If you really interested in how it's done We at the Midwest Supercomp Series have been paying out 100% to the racers for more than 20 years. the entry fee is $100 plus what ever the track wants (usually $15-$20 bucks) Payout starts with the first round winners with the rest of the payout determined by the number of cars. Several Super Gas and Super Street associations have come and gone in the midwest over the last twenty years so We must be doing something right. If your in the midwest next summer come check us out @ http://www.midwestsupercomp.com/ Regards |
