I sure hope he has a roll cage in it, because they are not giving anymore breaks to under 10.00 you need a cage ..... Those are some stout cars, I think they could go in the 8's at some time soon.... You figure the SS/DA record was just set at 9.17 @ 147 mph ....

Maybe a de-tune?? I saw the Tasca CJ go 8.90 at least 3 passes back in August at Epping...Bob Tasca himself was there that day....WJ

I thought for sure they would've taken that car to Indy or some other Nat. event between then and now....unless it had tech issues? First time I saw them make a pass, I couldn't believe it, nor could others up there that day....then they did it again and again....Right now the CJ cars seem to be in a class of their own, and I have a feeling they've got way more than they're showing.... WJ, did the car have a class designation on the window? I haven't seen the car yet, but from what I've been told it's not an NHRA class car. It's built to run in a class of some other racing organization, but I don't know what it is.

One of these cars has also been spotted at East Coast Speed in Warwick R.I. I haven't any word yet on where or what class they are going to race it in.

Re: Tasca ford cobra jet

George, the day I saw them at NED, the car didn't appear to have any class lettering or #'s on it. They have had that stick CJ at Epping probably 3 or more times from August to now. As I said, was surprised not to see them campaigning the car at any major events...You know how people talk....some are saying they're spraying it, etc., etc. People just don't like new stuff....especially when it's an instant success and they don't have one. Remember when the LS-1's first came onto the scene? Some people thought that the LT-1's would dominate forever, but things change.....how things change. Maybe E.F.I and PCM's and blowers are what's coming quicker than we think in Stock and SS.....especially if Holley doesn't make it this time. Best wishes. WJ

BTW, today Sat. Oct. 17, is the Tasca Performance Mustang Showdown race at Epping. I couldn't attend due to working, but maybe someone around here that goes up will post up some times if Tasca is in fact running their CJ up there at this event.....it's a very good air day here....mostly sunny, cool--low 50's, a little blustery, but a great day for putting up some bragging rights numbers.....WJ

Here are some pics of the car from Tasca Day at New England Dragway. Looks like it may have run a 9.39 hard to see in the pictures.

Looks like 9.391 @ 145.91. Who is to say it was in legal AA trim? I do not know, nor do I know anyone who does. If it was.............................

Not hard for me to understand those times since the aa/sa national record is 9.44 ET.

As someone who saw Tasca Ford stockers at CT Dragway it the 60s (not the A/FX or the Funny Cars, but stockers), I like seeing a Mustang with Tasca Ford on its side.
