TH-350, how long should the shift take.

What i mean is how long (in seconds) should the shifts take in a stocker prepped TH350. Judging by my datalogs its take .3 seconds. I am looking at the highpoint of first gear, to the lowest point immediately after the shift, same thing for the 2/3 shift. I am thinking it may be shifting slow, and thus losing some. any idea?

Does your datalog also show RPM @ shift?

yes it does. however what i am looking at is how long the trans actually takes to make the shift. I'm thinking it should be shifting quicker

Sounds more like operator error rather than a mechanical issue. I'd put your dad back in the driver's seat!

As apposed to bodily functions?

Could you post you datalogger screen shot? I'd like to look at it I have a XLT 350 that I've been working on that had some issues. It would help to see what you're looking at. Joe

Thanks Bill, on the 1-2 I'm assuming it goes back into the converter a bit? i know I've been shifting too high on ours, going to remedy that

I have a dumb ?

the rpm spikes to 6000 then looks to turn down to 5700 before going up. What does this mean if anything??

Chad, based on what I'm seeing on your graph the shifting looks fine compared to what I've seen on others and my own after some tweaks. Looks like you have a 6100-6200 converter based on the dropback, also looks like you're over reving it a bit if the white line is the accelerometer you can see it starting to drop off rapidly just prior to the shift. I'm sure there are guys here with alot more experience than me on this but it looks pretty good to me. Joe

On my set up when I was having trouble I would see a sharp dip on my Accel. trace, I could also actually "hear" it making the shift, it definately was not a clean change in ratio. Looks like you have that thing hooked up. Joe
