I hate to piss on the barbeque, but what's the point of having all that if it's tucked away collecting dust?
May as well be a bunch of Citreon or Skoka cars and parts.Oh I know,"But he shows them to anybody who he wants to".Big deal.Looks like anyone with allergies would need a mask to walk that barmn.
Wouldn't it be novel to sell off some of the cars and stock and secure space (ala Garlits museum). At least he is open to the public and he actually takes cars out and uses them.
It is an awesome collection, but really share it for all to see and the cars and parts sold will see the light of day again.

Re: Something for you Mopar lovers

I chased after a '70 'Cuda 440-6, shaker, 4-speed for nearly 10 years. A friend found it while walking his dog and saw it through the slats in the fence. Sitting in the Arizona sun since around 1978 when it was parked. At first it still retained the original paint but still needed a full resto. I think I started with a $10K offer. Nice guy, wouldn't sell; "gonna restore it someday". If he had two nickels or more, it wasn't obvious. Over 10 years I dropped by and eventually made a final offer of $20K. But by now the sun had burnt the paint off and it was surface rust top to bottom. Still wouldn't sell. I wished him well and said it was my last trip.
Found out he died about a year later. His pot smokin' dead-beat son was going to sell it to a guy for $10K. Then somebody else stepped in and through $20K at him and he took the car home with him.
I'm sure $20K got the kid a lot of drugs and whores. I knew that car would never get restored by the old man. But at least the memory of 'Cuda days gone by kept the old guy happy, and that is worth something.
I'd agree with Ed, those cars in the barn will only see a restoration when the next of kin sells it for nickels on the dollar.

Like most of you I've been through the " I'm going to restore these old cars someday" gig only to watch them go to the crusher.
Tried to buy two 1964 ply's from an old man in Nashville, a sport fury with a 383 4sp and a belevedere with a 383 and 4sp. Five years later he passed and the cars were crushed by the city.

This guy needs to unload his stuff and help the sport.

I agree Mack. re the new car, the classic challenger b-5 would have been perfect if they got the color right like the lovely superbird behind it!

Up here in Mass, while my 79 Lil Red express was being restored and repainted in 1992-3, I found myself, without a vehicle. I would walk from the commuter rail through Reading to Woburn, and down a side street, the unmistakable tail of a superbird parked in the driveway. White, 4 speed 440-6 if I deciphered the vin correctly. I left my card on the car a few times, then after a two years, told the biggest Mopar car trader I have ever know about the car Mike Ditto of Palmer Mass. Mike hammered out a deal and I am sure that the car was rapidly resold for a tidy profit and has long since been restored.

For me, the thrill of scouring the want advertiser, calling and talking about a car or part, and then driving out to view the cars and parts is something I miss. Internet and EBAY have changed a lot of that. Lots of parts donor cars, and cars not worthy of driving, led me down the path of the best maintained, most rust free mopars around....ie race cars! Enjoy the cars in barns while it lasts.

Race cars in barns would be even nicer!

There is a '69 Dart Swinger 340 sitting in a back yard across the road from our defunct local drag strip. It's another "gonna restore it someday" car and has been sitting on grass since at least 1981-2 when my late friend inquired about it. I drive past about once a month and look in to see as it rots into the ground.

Absoloutly unbelievable but what good is it?
I know of a original '65 Plymouth A990 car that has been sitting outside behind a barn for countless years, rusting into the ground because the idiot who owns will not sell it because he has plans for it. Or, how about an orginal Motown Missile sitting in the snow in Canada. Same deal, he has plans for it.
A mind is terrible thing to waste.

It's a sickness for sure. I sold off lots of my cars and body parts 10 years ago when I was only 45, I knew already then I would never get to all of my projects. It's a shame to let something sit and rot when somebody with the time and ambition could restore it.Paul.

Reliable sources and photos I've seen show the Don Carlton, then Mike Fons, Motown Missile '72 Cuda rotting away outside somewhere up in Canada! Guy won't sell!

Jeff that car wasn't up at 52 st. and Bell? My Satellite HP2 car I bought 10 years ago came from a old man that had a dark blue black top 440 6-pack shaker but don't remember being a 4 speed.
