Technical Question.....

If your car goes down the track good but it hits the high chip at 1000 feet....when you accidently put in a 4.56 gear instead of a 4.10....
What do you do???

A. Change converters....
B. Change transmissions....
C. Pull the chip out...
D. Comment on how consistent the car is running against the chip...

Z. Actually check the gear ratio......

Tom Goldman 04-23-2007 09:59 AM

I like D !!!!! .......... Tom

shooter66 04-23-2007 10:12 AM

CBS jr 04-23-2007 11:15 AM

Change the air in the tires from winter air to spring air. Then call chaser.[:-grin-:]

Michael Lyons 04-23-2007 11:23 AM

oopsy... take the chip out and change springs every round like a pro racer has to http://www.classracer.com/html/happy.gif

so how is the new hotrod? Hows KY this time of year? Any pics of the new beast yet?

Steve VanderSloot 04-23-2007 11:57 AM

So, how high and how long were you on it?

Too funny... you have too much on your plate...

CBS 04-23-2007 12:13 PM

It wasn't us.....

I believe the guy has one of our old motors....(with Mike Lyons massaged cylinder heads....)

I think he has it in an orange 27 T roadster......I can't quite remember his name.....

ChaserFan maybe.....

Barney B 04-23-2007 12:26 PM

Change the gear again
BB[:-cheers-:]

chebby2 04-23-2007 02:00 PM

Unplug the tach..

Steve VanderSloot 04-23-2007 02:22 PM

Double Diamond Deep Stage to Double Diamond Down Track...

The guy really thinks outside the box...

CBS 04-23-2007 02:29 PM

I really think he did it intentionally...so it was ok to run that top end chip.....

well anyway...I feel bad for him...so I will be sending him some of the win

money for a new pair of glasses.....then all he will have to do is

Plug in the tach
change the trans back
change the converter
and change the rear end again....

and he should be ready to go....ouch!

CBS

CBS jr 04-23-2007 02:31 PM

Give him a 4 speed and clutch.

Chaser 04-23-2007 02:32 PM

He needs a 700 inch motor......similar to the one I just happen to have for sale. The story sounded more like Pat's Christine car......

CBS 04-23-2007 02:34 PM

you should have seen the look on his face when we figured it out....

He lent the center section out to a guy and it came back with a 4.56 gear in it...instead of a 4.10...

incredible....

CBS

CBS 04-23-2007 02:41 PM

maybe that's something we should test..."the Double Dimond downtrack stutter"

I wondered why he had such big mufflers......he was playing me like a

fiddle....

Michael Lyons 04-23-2007 03:31 PM

well that makes sense now... when you stage with the wheelie bar, the guy musta figured the gear for 1304 ft.. lol

I massaged the heads?! That thing must be a slug then! suprised it'd rev high enuf to need a chip!?!

Pictures of the new improved HCGG streamliner?

CBS 04-23-2007 04:22 PM

The new streamliner is awesome.....We are very happy with it....same speed as the old one.....but with beadlocks and wing.....

And it looks and drives like a dream.......I think we have a picture....somewhere...from Columbus......yesterday.....

I'll check....

Scott Brown design
R&R Autobody.....

Awesome.....

CBS 04-23-2007 04:32 PM

And American Race Cars of course......

SSTRACER323 04-23-2007 05:25 PM

CBS 04-24-2007 11:36 AM

Nitro Joe Jackson 04-24-2007 12:13 PM

Rock, Pat, Tom, Don and all the crew, we did have a blast this past weekend at Columbus, just wish we could get past those semi final rounds, lol. Oh well we had a good weekend.

Rock, Dad and I wondered why it sounded like your car was on NOS in high gear where we was parked, change the gear, lol http://www.classracer.com/html/happy2.gif

CBS 05-01-2007 11:04 AM

Come on Tom.....hurry up and change that drivetrain again.....

CBS

Chaserfan1 05-01-2007 08:25 PM

Going to Virginia this weekend with Theo.....will let you know what happens!

PAT 3340 05-01-2007 09:20 PM

He's going, but does he know what gear will be in????

CBS 05-02-2007 08:23 AM

Good luck......I'm sure you will be fine.....

CBS

Michael Lyons 05-02-2007 11:53 AM

Goodluck in VA. You'll definitely need the correct gear in it there, else you'll be ringin the bell... lol

Steve VanderSloot 05-07-2007 09:04 AM

So, how did it go Chaserfan1?

CBS 05-07-2007 09:14 AM

From what I hear.....he went big speed......with our last Reher-Morrison bullet....

he probably broke out.....

CBS

Michael Lyons 05-07-2007 09:37 AM

Apparently he didn't fare so well. Didn't see his name in the first rd winners list.. hope he wadn't gettin fancy staging again.. lol Probly can't see around that huge engine now http://www.classracer.com/html/happy.gif

Chaserfan1 05-07-2007 01:20 PM

Everything was going fine.....until fist round! 9.90 at over 162. First round, idling into the lights, kicked a pushrod out. I think I was lucky and caught it quick enough so there was no real damage. Pulled it out this morning to have everything checked just to be sure. Should be back together by Norwalk.

Virginia was a mess. Rain on Saturday, wind on Sunday. We didn't run first round until after 5 on Sunday. Not so bad if you are 2 hours from home, 9 hours not so good.
